Title: My third bike for christmas....
Post by: Earth Brown on December 23, 2006, 10:01:11 PM
Seems I am really bad at getting motorcycles as gifts for christmas...

First one was gs550e, then a gs1100e from my parents, and

Finally yesterday, my Wife unveiled my latest Christmas present, 98 B12.

This bike was meticulously maintained and upgraded.

Dale walker complete stage 2, with slipon pods and jetkit.
Ohins in the rear

Traxxion Ft end

sprockets were changed to a popular setting.

Corbin Seat with the miny sissy-bar

Very clean bike...

So finally after bugging you guys for info on the b12 i am an owner.

The rest of christmas will be down-hill now that I received the bike...

great setup, and IT is WAY faster than my 1100.  My 1100 was fast, this is ridiculous.

Did a 1/4 mile run on my road, braked to 55, and then a cop came around the corner...whew!!

This year now that I got the forks done.  Race tech golds and progressive springs.  Just running a Busa shock on the rear.  Fairing is now gone so crashing won't be as damaging.

PS  zoombic,  guess what I got for Christmas!!

Mine gets track time, as much as time &$ will allow. R.T.gold valves and fork springs, have a couple different shocks that I',ve tried. rear sets and high mount Holeshot exhaust.Extra wheels and tires and gearing,GSX-R cams. Its very addicitive for me, I used to race in Batavia too. Every fri. night under the lights at the fairgrounds. Then I had a 250cc Bultaco Astro. Many many moons ago!

Congrats, very nice looking bike and a great wife. Since it wouldn’t be polite to ask how much, how many mile on the odometer, if I my be so bold?

I thought my better half was something special not just agreeing to me having a bike but insisting I keep it after I crashed it. Wow, whadda lady you gots there.

By the by, What kind of seat do you have on that? I am in the market for a new one and it looks like the one you have has a nice scoop to it for the passenger.

Thanks,
The Big B

corbin seat, with optional minny sissy, havent had it out very far but seems comfortable on the 10mile virgin 2up ride...

She got a deal, and it has 22k on it, which was more than I was hoping for, but with all the extra mods and with how much i will ride it, I would have had 22k on a 15k bike in a summer at most....

way i figure....

holeshot goodies already mounted....

slipon, $350
timing advance $50
stage 2 complete $300
ft end suspension $100
Rear end suspension(ohlins) idk $500??? not sure I know they are pricey.  But already sprung for 220lb rider and a passenger....

corbin seat.  ??$250-500?? depending on if you find a used one

Higher windshield $50

He also replaced the stock side covers with durable composite covers, stock ones in the box unscratched...

Not having to turn a wrench on the bike.....priceless...

PS for christmas i got a new magnetic tankbag from my brothers, and soft saddle bags from the parents....

SO I am ready to roll.....

Good music transcends political boundaries. Good to have you aboard!

Btw, sounds like you got a good deal letting someone else do all the expensive mods that make the bike even better.

Yeah, I plan on finding another Neil Young Concert this summer, he is sure to be touring somewhere, and I think his time touring may be short, relatively speaking...

Yeah, after the Wife bought the bike, and before I knew she did, I was listing to her all the things that would need to be done to a stock B12 to make it the machine I wanted..... I was mostly worried about the suspension, as I knew the stock b12 suspension was a little weak for 2up.....  I was figuring on finding a mostly stock b12, and having to spend $2k on mods....

Corbin seat was also a great + and also was on list of mods I wanted to do.

She did a good job....especially seeing as this is the only vehicle we have bought that she actually saw before we owned them....We have bought 10+ cars in the last 6-7 years, and she has seen NONE of them before either pickup, or me driving in driveway with it....
