After a tip-over I had replaced the stock steel bars on my 01B6 with a aftermarket one. they are black which I wanted and the best part was they were only $18.00 then shipping on top of that. They worked great, until a wind storm blew my bike over and bent the bars!!! I am having a problem finding the web site that I purchased those bars from. If any of you know of some great places to get a replacement handlebar for a good price please RE to this post. I cant see spending $68.00 for OEM bars in which I had great results with my cheaper ones. Thanks for your help

Maybe these?
Bikemaster Handlebars (http://www.ridenow.com/product/detail/bikemasterbars.aspx)
The Daytona model is great.

I dream about those handle bars in that bottom pic all the time......... :duh:

wow, good deal. I spent about $50 on some Gold Renthal bars, about an inch wider, inch taller/pullback than stock.
The gold ones look cool with 98 Candy Apple Red B12.

These are the bars I want...

Thank you PaulVS and Dreadnought. probably going to get the superbike bars from Ride Now, But if I had the budget to get a set of those Suburban bolt on clipons i would love to try them. they look sweet!! Thanks again guys!

I'm in the same boat as I need new bars, also risers ... :annoy: I have a $20 set of MX bars on now but never did like them. The trouble is it seems i can't tell how i feel about bars until they are installed, maybe i'm just picky. Let me know how you feel about the superbike bars once you have them on.

I've gotten 3 sets of Bikemaster bars...
Drag bars
Superbike Bars
Daytona
Drag bars put way too much weight on your wrists. The bandit's design isn't as conducive to 'leaning forward' as a typical sport bike.
Superbike bars were an improvement, but still on long rides the forward lean got to be a pain.
The Daytona bars were perfect. slightly more upright, with no pain on long rides, but still a mildly 'sporty' riding position.
Also, the stock Bandit handlebars have an awkward bend (pull-back) that cocks your wrists at an odd angle and causes pain in the outer part of the palms. All three of the Bikemaster bars eliminated that particular problem.

Thanks for that info Paul. I like a forward lean but was wondering if the Suburban bars would be too much lean...a bit pricey for the gamble. I think I'll try the superbike bars and if I don't like them try the Daytona's. I was wondering why I got the palm pain, never thought about the pull back causing it...it was never too bad but did get bit uncomfortable on long rides.

Great info Paul.
Oddly the pull back on the stocks never 'hurt' they just felt totally unatural for the first month or two (for me thats a lot of riding), for the price of them may just order up both daytonas and superbike bars and then sell the ones i don't want. With my rearsets I think the drag bars wouldn't be too much of a stretch, but 5-6 hours in the saddle and my back would probably complain.

Wow, You guys never disappoint! Great stuff here. Especially about your exp. with the Daytona's and the Superbike differences. I thought that the ones that I originally replaced my stock bars where the daytona bars...but just looking at the dimensions of the two, I think im gona try my luck with the superbike ones. One reason is that the current bars i have put the brake line to its limit. Actually had to rotate the bars a little more upwards so the break line was not totally tight. Thanks again for some great feedback!! Love this site!!!
