OK, just picked up a 1200 Bandit, the manufacture date is 7/99, does that make it a 1999 model for sure? I don't know anything about Bandits, I don't know what specific years are 1st generation, 2nd generation, those are the questions I would like answered! First off, I need a clutch lever, what years would be compatible? I do a search on eBay and every clutch lever out there is for 2001 and above? What will fit my 99 model? I didn't get a title with it, bill of sale only, but the previous owner said it was a 2000 model? Is that possible? How can I tell? What's really confusing me is in the little reading I have done, I read about the throttle position sensor. My bike looks like it has the electrical plug for it, but the original carbs didn't have a place for it to hook up? What year started with the TPS? I'll be posting in the for sale/wanted ads soon, looking forward to hanging out on the forum!

Firstly.... :welcome: to the site. Glad to have you.
You just might find a ton of information in the BanditAlley Wiki - just click on the "WIKI" link at the top of the page.

The VIN data plate on the steering head should tell you what model year it is. With a Mfr date of 7/99, it very well could be an '00 model. Either way, '99 or '00, it wouldn't have TPS. That wasn't introduced until the '01 models.
