I just noticed that Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary is advertsing the new 07 1250 Bandit for 8999 Can$ (appr 10,500 USD).
I was surprised to see it already being discounted.
Anybody got theirs yet?

:duh: Ummm... You have your exchange rate numbers backwards. :stickpoke:
According to http://www.xe.com at the time of this post:
CDN$8999 = US$7620.49
CDN$10,500 = US$8884.90
US$8999 = CDN$10,635.87
US$10,500 = CDN$12,409.28
I see Blackfoot also has leftover '05 B12's for CDN$7999 (US$6766.55). They even show a price for the new Connie 1400 - CDN$20,200 (US$17,085.45) - it still shows a MSRP price of TBD on the US Kawasaki site. So much for the rumors that it would be priced lower than the FJR, they have the '07 FJR's priced at CDN$16,999 (US$14,380.23) for the regular one and CDN$18,999 (US$16,072.13) for the one with no clutch lever... that's pushing real close to BMW prices!

I see the Suzuki site lists the 1250 at 10799 and the abs version at 11499 (or there abouts) so Blackfoot's price is not such a discount and if you add in their prep costs it may not be a discount at all.
I'm not sure if this still holds true, but when I was looking to buy my Ninja, their prep cost was about $200 higher than else where.
Walt Healy still has an 06 with ABS listed at $9799. They don't list the price for the 07 yet.

I ordered a new 1250 from my dealer awhile back... I have a deposit on whichever one comes in first. The OTD prices we agreed on were:
Standard 1250S... $7749 USD
ABS 1250S...........$8149 USD
This is before tax & title.
I was just informed yesterday that I would receive the Standard 1250 (in black) within 2 weeks... the bike is in the system and probably on it's way now. This is because she had ordered it before Xmas and is in "priority backorder".
I believe the ABS will be the first model to arrive in most showrooms, possibly within the next couple weeks.

$10,799 marked down to $8999 seems like a pretty steep discount, even considering the exchange rate. That put it priced lower than ZenMan's bike - and bike prices in the US are normally quite a bit lower than Canada, even taking the exchange rate into consideration.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that there was no '06 Bandit offered in the US, therefore no competitetion to sell the '07 over last years model.
In Canada, there's probably a lot of '06 models left over... they have to discount it more there to compete.
I dunno, all I know is I'm very happy with the price I'm getting... the '07 Bandit is still the best bang for the buck as far as my needs go. Especially that the prices I'm hearing for the new Connie ($17,000!?!?) and the FJR1300 ($14,000) are what they are!
I'm thinking I could set up my '07 with performance and touring mods and farkles that would compete with the FJR and still keep it well under $10,000, but thats just me. :bigok:

I was reading my Streetfighter magazine and it showed a naked B12.5. Could it be possible that there will be a naked version offered?
-
Yes, there is a naked version, it just isn't coming to the US - just like any version of the B650.

I guess there is a reason I'm home sick...I can't even do some simple math right :duh:
I was just surprised to see Blackfoot offering an $1800 discount on a new model that hasn't even hit the market yet. There must still be some margin in it at MRSP, even though it is still a "Bang for the Buck" model.
Yea, the cost of the new Connie is right up there with Ducati and BMW!!!

Oops I misread your post - sorry my bad.
I thought you had reversed the figures, but you are correct and they are selling the 07 for less than the 06s are going for. Now Im bummed. I paid 500 more for my 06 only a couple of months back. Not that I'm not happy with my bike ( read my post "Its home at long last" ) but I hate to miss a deal.

Hmmmm....the more prices I see, the more I realize what a great deal I got at Walt Healy last May on my B12S.
And NO, I'm NOT related to anyone there and, NO, I've never worked for them either.
I've steered clear of Clubfoot ever since they ripped me off on a C$60 rear sprocket in 1990. They ordered the wrong part.... but wouldn't take it back because "it wasn't in the original packaging."
I figure they've lost about C$20K worth of business from me since then.....all because of a $60 sprocket.
A big plus for me, though, has been the fact I got to meet and deal with a whole bunch of much nicer and more honest people after I kissed off Clubfoot. Walt Healy's people are definitely on the list of good guys and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, based on my experience.
