I may finally have to eat some dirt and break the piggy-bank!
I'm sitting here in a Chinese hotel in my underwear and I just saw the Suzuki website relase of the new GSX1250.. (or 1255?)
Dang! Just about what I've been years for!!
NICE lines... a new fairing that doesn't look like a droopy BARN DOOR... still has a mainstand.... and adjustable seat.... looks great in black! And I'll bet that 1250 FI motor has cajones.
Uh oh.,.... my 1998 B12 is shivering under the tarp back home...

So far, it still hasn't showed up on the US Suzuki site, but has appeared on the Canadian and several EU sites. Maybe there's hope...

You could import one from Canada. It's not going to save you any money like back in the day, but you'd be the only guy in town with one. Also worth noting is that sometimes Canada gets bikes ahead of the US, basically for market research. If it's a hit, they bring it down, if the bike is a colossal sales failure, nobody in the US notices anyway and the manufacturer is stuck with way fewer unsold units. So maybe wait a year, see what happens. Of course, if you got one this year, you'd still have a super rare bike.

Unless it has a label on it that says it meets US EPA standards for it's model year, it is going to be a PIA to get registered. Not saying it's impossible - there's Canadian 2-stroke street bikes, like the RG250/500 that have been snuck in - just difficult for most of us.

So maybe wait a year, see what happens...
WAAAAHHHH!! I don't WANT to wait a year, Mommy !!!!
