I was finally able to get my Holeshot intake cam installed on the B12. With much appreciation to Blade(AKA Bill's Bike N Service), I would have not been able to do the job myself. If any of y'all are in his area, he is the type of person you want working on your bike(s). As far as noticing a difference, I can't exactly say yet. The next time I get out on some open ranges, I will be better able to play with it to see the difference. What I have noticed so far is that the bike runs like a champ. We were able to get the carbs synced as well. On a side note, riding Bill's 1216 Bandit with FCR carbs, WOW! What a kick in the pants that is! :iddi: The power and torque on that thing is crazy, I want it !!!

Well here is the update you all have been waiting for. My friend with his bone stock naked bandit went out with me on a run and here it goes.
Bandit 1 - bone stock w/ 47 tooth rear sprocket
Bandit 2 - Holeshot 14" low mount slip on exhaust, Holeshot stage 1 modified jet kit, Holeshot intake cam, 47 tooth rear sprocket
3rd gear roll on
Bandit 1 -
Bandit 2 - Snappier throttle response and was able to easily pull away from the stock bandit. This is despite me having a heavier body weight.
4th gear roll on - same results
100 - 150 mph - Before adding the cam, it would pull strong to around 135 -140 mph and then creep up to around 145 - 150 mph. Since I've added the cam, it pulls strong all the way up to 150 mph.
End result, I haven't noticed much difference in the low to mid range as advertised and I am quite happy with the results. The bike runs like a champ and I belive the addition was well worth it.

I'm just wondering if you have done an average miles per gallon study before all this. It would seem to me that changing the cam and more, would lead to fewer MPG's.
If you know your old average, I'm hoping that you would oblige with the current thirst of your new settup.

I have both the intake and the exhaust cams in mine.With the Holeshot headers and high mount can,K&N pods,advancer,stage II jetting. I'm not sure what my hp is, but it does run good. As far as gas milage,when your sucking more air,burning more fuel,you can go faster to the next station. I need gas every 100 miles. I just picked up some new throttle cables,when I put them on,I'll try and bump my holeshot needles down a 1/2 notch and see if I can squeeze a few more mpg.

I keep track on my gas mileage and I haven't noticed any difference yet other than when I am really on the throttle.

With just the intake cam, you will not notice much change. At most I would supect maybe a mile or 2 per gallon. It also depend on how you ride (right hand useage).

Hey Smooth,
Sounds like your jetting is off some. When I had the same setup, I would able to get about 140 miles out before I hit reserve. Also don't forget, mileage has a lot to do with how you are riding. If you are agressive, you will get lower mileage than if you are easy. My riding is in the middle I guess.
