New TV-web show for bikers.
« on: November 28, 2009, 05:29:51 PM »
Hi all
My new TV-Web show is very close to becoming a reality. ( I will be using my '08 Bandit for season 1)
We (myself and my co-producer) have started negotiations with a few sponsors and are just putting the final deal together. Things are close to making this a go.
I would like to ask for your support.
Please take the time to view our webisodes.
The first vid is our pilot, a short version done as a magazine styled “how to” show. The other is the story of the show itself done more in a reality-documentary show format which is more along the direction we are heading although we will be adding tech tips, riding tips, travel pointers etc as well as long term testing of gear I use.

The Planet Tour pilot- sample episode

The story of the Planet Tour

If you like what you see, please rate them high. Send me your comments too so I can bring them up in our next production meeting.
info@theplanettour.com

We will be posting webisodes on various websites such as Youtube but for the full versions you will have to be a subscriber and it will be sent to you 3 times a week approx 3-4 mins in length, so they are easy to watch, even at work when you are needing a riding fix.
The good news is subscribing is free!
We will also be offering contests for gear as well as discount offers to subscribers in the future.
Our launch date for the show is set spring of 2010.
To subscribe here is the link:

Thanks in advance. I look forward to sharing my journey and meeting some of you out there.

Can you just put your email in the message part for now please. I have been trying to log into the website to change the form but the server is having a glitch today and not letting me into the content management. The form works, I just cant add a line for email today. Sorry. Thanks for watching.
You can also send in your subscription to the email info@theplanettour.com
cheers

Edmonton will be on the 2010 schedule as well as near by areas. We are concentrating on bike event areas to bring the show to those who ride. We have a few confirmed already and the live shows will be to raise money for charity.

Wow, this looks very cool.  I rated and commented on your videos, subscribed via YouTube and your web site.  Hope you end up making a bunch of these.  And as I said in my post, if you end up coming thru Chicago, lets go for a ride, and I'll get some folks to come out to the show.

Just caught your site via an email from a riding buddy. Great stuff !!!
I hope it all works out for you. I'm glad to hear that your camera team isn't allowed to help you out of any jams you work yourself into.....unlike two semi-famous wankers who shall remain anonymous with their support truck and a whole cast of support folks.
Glad to see you're using a REAL bike for your show :thumb:.....unlike some others who seem to prefer VERY expensive bikes with dodgy reliability records.

Oh, BTW, I personally prefer to be known as a "rider" rather than a "biker". "Biker" has such negative images associated with it, IMO. However "rider", to my mind, carries a certain cachet and conveys an image of motorcycling skill. Something to think about.....

Thanks for your comments. Please share the links with others.
so noted on the rider vs biker handle. One thing I would like to see is the image of "biker" get cleaned up a bit. Not so greasy an image so to speak  :yikes:

Agreed!!!....and that's why I call myself a "rider". Heck, I'm so hard core about this I can't stand to even THINK about wearing a black tee shirt. Call me a snob if you will but I want to totally distance myself from the whole "biker culture"....especially the posers, wannabes and other assorted losers. I refuse to be associated with "bikers" in any way.
I wish you luck in your attempt(s) to "rehabilitate" the term "biker".....
but I don't think it's going to happen. TV has invested too much time and money disseminating their version of the "biker".
End of rant.....for now. :rant2:

You under estimate a comic with an attitude. Hollywood pretty much sucks when it comes to reality and I am not afraid to point that out on occasion.

Good for you, man !!! Go for it !!! There are tons of organizations (and people) out there who need to be told that "the emperor has no clothes" a LOT more often than they've been told up to this point. ;-)

Hi all
Just an update. Currently we are in the slow legal aspect of negotiations with sponsors which is going even slower during the holiday season.
We are got bored sitting around and waiting so here is a vid we did just for fun while we get things set up.

Good job Daryl, easy to watch and unpretentious. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to the future episodes.

P.S. Try to steer clear from spreading myths propagated by irrational and gullible people, especially when it comes to technical side of things. I'd hate to see an otherwise well done and amusing show ruined by warnings not to mix mineral with synthetic oil and similar disinformation.
