Anyone try them yet? (Yes I searched ) I just sold my KZ and am thinking of putting the cash into a set of tires. The Rilot Road 2's look great but they would be $530 installed so i need to think it through carefully.
60% commuting 35% relativly touring and 5% as hooligan as I can go.
BT021's look OK as well and are $100 cheaper.

Yeah, I recently posted a personal review of the BT-021's... I've been through two sets so far,, with very good results. They wear a little funny, as they have a "dual compound" center section... but overall they worked very well over something like 4000 miles before becoming questionable.
Unless you have a lot of money, or are track-day serious... the BT-021's are a good bet.

Yea but you guys get better tire life because you can only ride six months out of the year!!!!

I just changed out my BT021 front/BT020 rear combo on my last road trip to CA.
I measured them both up before I left and wasn't worried about the front, but the rear was iffy.
However, for the 3rd year in a row I needed tires on the road. The BT021 front actually went away first, the last 3rd of the tire went away in 2000 kms (1250 miles) including the harder centre section (damn California twisy roads :thumb:).
Anyway, the BT021 front only lasted 2/3 of the life of the Pilot Roads, but the rear BT020 was similar to the Pilot Roads. I didn't notice any grip difference between the BT and the Pilots, both were great in my opinion.
I was hoping to try out the Road 2's but I ended up with Dunlop Qualifiers, as that was all I could find on the road. So...3rd brand now. Seem to stick good...life is unknown.

Well after comparing the Pilots and BT-021's side by side in the shop I decided on the Pilot Road 2's. They will be on the rims at 3pm today.
I'll report my feelings on them as I put on some's KM's

jimyed, what do ya' think about those Pilots now? I've been investigating new shoes for my B1250, and I need something that lasts longer than these pathetic stock treads did (barely 4K Miles on them and they're getting thin around the center).

Still loving them. I have about 3000 Km's and there's not much wear.I leave Sunday for a trip to the east coast that will be the real test. But I do stil love them I'm able to be quite aggressive for me and always confident. I think they are a great choice.

That sounds better than this worn out shoes I'm lookin' at. I was looking at the Shinko 009 Ravens because of price, but they seem to be getting in short supply around here. No one seems able to get the front tire.

I put a set of Pilot Road 2s on just before my recent Seattle to Hyder Alaska trip. I'm very pleased with them... good grip and little noticable wear vs. the stock tires. The trip put about 2,500 miles on them, plus I put about a hundred on them before I left, and another hundred since getting back.
After the same amount of mileage my stock tires were done, down to the wear bars. These have a ton of life left and I have no complaints whatsoever.

Mine were showing some serious wear, but not completely wore out. Mine are now, just a very small amount of tread left, with about 4200 miles on them. Gonna have to park the bike until I get new treads. I found out I can get the Shinkos now, and they may fit better in my shrinking budget, but I haven't made up my mind.

I currently have PR 2's on my B1250. Have done about 6000 k's on them and they're wearing very well. They might be expensive but you get what you pay for! :thumb:

I still have PRs on the Bandit and have always liked them, and I recently put a set of PR 2's on my ST1300. The ST is a smoothe riding bike to begin with but the PR's make you feel like you're floating. Very good when pushing it in the twisty stuff, very calm and smoothe on the highway and absolutely excellent in the rain. Great tires.
