Poor work by dealership
« on: September 13, 2007, 06:47:03 PM »
Just to let members know.  Cycle Nation Suzuki Yamaha in Braselton, GA, really screwed up my Bandit 1200.  Because of time constraints I had let them change my oil and filter.  They stripped the drain plug threads and inserted a helicoil which started leaking.  When I carried it back for them to fix (after a trip out west) I also had them do a service including adjusting the valves.  After picking up the bike (I have ridden it less than 50 miles since then) I noticed several things wrong.  After making the proper adjustments I decided to check the other things they had done.  Upon removing the valve cover to check the valve adjustments I found that one of the adjusting screws on the #2 exhaust rockers had backed almost all the way out and that the lock nut was missing.  I could find it nowhere so I assumed it had fallen into the sump.  Taking out the oil drain plug I found that they had not replaced the oil pan but had inserted another helicoil which also came out.  The adjusting screw lock nut did not fall out.  Their work sucks.  I'm gonna pull the oil pan myself and see if I can find the nut.  Until then the bike sits.  Thanks for listening to my rant about an especially pisspoor dealership.

I know that they will not do much, but I would take pictures and report it to Suzuki and tell them about the poor quality of work.

Are they a member of the local better business bureau?

Have you talked to the General Manager of the Dealership and shown them what was done?

How about a TV troubleshooter?
