Poor work by dealership update

Today I went by the dealership and talked with the general manager.  He said he wished there was something they could do to make me happy.  Unfortunately there is nothing short of a new motorcycle that would make me happy.  Since they had screwed the bike up worse each time it had been at their dealership I wouldn't trust them to make repairs.  Personally I think a total engine rebuild is called for to remedy potential problems from particles left by drilling the oil pan for a helicoil.  A big piece is laying on the bottom of the pan and the pan will have to be removed to get it out.  So I'm either going to get another 1200 Bandit and use this one as a parts bike or get a new 1250 Bandit--but not from Cycle Nation Suzuki Yamaha of Braselton, GA.

Sorry to here anout your bad experience.
That's why I don't trust dealers to work on my bike. The mechanic staff in most dealers has a pretty high turnover rate. I prefer to do most work myself, and the jobs that I can't do (there aren't too many) I take to a mom and pop shop up the street. The only two people working in there are a guy and his son.

Me personally I would let them know that I am taking it to another shop and that they would be paying the bill to go through the engine and relacing any parts they damaged, or they can get you a crate engine and pay you to install it.

If you think you have a real case here, you may wish to document all that has happened thoroughly and then consult a lawyer. The reason for documenting this well and in advance... is to save legal costs. The lawyer can then read all that has passed and advise in less than 1/2 hour. A short letter from him will likely scare and get $ out of the first guys to pay a better shop to fix.

yes you will need the other shop to document the mishap helicoils work fine when done proper and usually you do, do them with the oil pan on and with grease on the bits to catch the metal filings. as for the nut falling off really not good sloppy mechanic should have marked them all as he tightened them with a paint marker. It happens sad to say but i would say you have a strong case cheers ex mechanic lol
