OK, this isn't motorcycle related, per se. More a board issue, but I was afraid if I put it down there, it might not get read... so I put it here.
I've been noticing (and fixing) a lot of posts lately where people are trying to quote something from a previous post and it doesn't end up showing up right. It's mostly been a problem with people either forgetting or deleting the closing tag.
Please make sure your quoted text ends with [/quote]
When it hasn't been a problem with the closing tag, it's the opening one.
If you want the quote to reference who said it, you can click on the "QUOTE" button in their post. A reply window will appear with their entire post and room for you to add your comments. You can edit unwanted portions out if you want. Additionally, you can make their name show up in a manually typed opening tag if you type
[/b]
If you don't want their name to show, just type [/b] - or you can use the "Quote" button in the reply, insert desired text and click on the "Quote" button again to close it.
:thanks:

Hey Red01, Do you think you could explain who to edit out the text not wanted? not very computer literate :duh:

Do you think you could explain how to edit out the text not wanted?
If you're using the quote button, like I did when I quoted, trimmed and corrected your above post, you just put the cursor in quoted text that appears in your post box and use the delete key, backspace key, or highlight the text you want to delete by the 'click and drag' method, then hit the delete key. When you're done trimming the quote, you just bring the cusor outside the quote tags and type your comments.
Is that what you're looking for :?:

Red01, here, in Spain, Rojo01, for you is simply a colour, for us was a war.
I would like that somebody of yours be able to travell next year, only one, at Juny to Spain, we have an special 1200 Streetfighter Bandit waiting for someone, no gas, simplemente vino, no plugs, cirios de 4 mechas, no beautiful girls back, son paquetes.
REDS & BLUES, our history.
Pete, de este año no pasa, tengo contactos en la CIA y en la DEA y en algun vuelo te acoplaran, y la fighter esta esperando a que vengas a Madrid, si despues no quieres volver, es tu problema.
Your wife don,t read this post?.....................

rspector,
I have the factory service manual for a 2001 1200S in PDF format if you, or anyone else, wants it.
It's about 54MB, but I can post it to my FTP site if anyone is interested.
Contact me via my email (below) since I don't check this board as often as I should!

Says the guy with >3000 posts!
(flippin sweet - there's another one for me!!!!!!!!!!)

:scaredmouse: Pushing 4 grand now!
Better watch out. Last time I broke 5000 posts, the board crashed and we had to start over...

Daytona: Hey Red01 what's up with the quote easy button?
During Pete's recent brief 20 hour visit to his home, he managed to squeeze in the time to install the latest upgrade to the board's software... so I have a feeling this glitch has something to do with that. Until it gets fixed, the best thing to do if you use the 'quote post' button is remove the name, along with quotation marks and equal sign, or edit it like I did above to put the name outside the quote tag. (I added the":" and bold tags to the name to separate it from the message, you can do that, too, if you wish.)
Sorry for the incovenience - I hate it, too...

RED01: We expect to get close to Camas this summer to visit friends. How close to you is that?
Wally
-
Camas is just across the Columbia River and a little east of Portland, OR.
It's ~250 miles from where I live.
A ride around Mt. St. Helens would be a good trip out of Camas, and I wouldn't object to that. :thumb:

redo1: if it's in the cards we'll set a ride up!
