Rear right passenger footpeg
« on: July 25, 2006, 06:57:31 PM »
Have a 2001 Bandit 1200s. Dropped my bike and now the foot peg extends too far. The foot peg and the foot peg holder seems to be damaged. Looked for foot pegs, but the cheapest foot peg assembly I could find was for 160USD. Anyone know where I can find something cheaper?

Thanks

The usual used parts sources - ebay, classifieds online and in print, salvage yards, bulletin boards like this...

But with the footpeg bracket being cast aluminum alloy, I can't picture it bending. If the peg doesn't sit level when deployed, I'd guess it's more likely the subframe is out of whack where the peg mounts, so I'd have a good look at the subframe and the tabs for the peg bracket for signs of it any bending.

thanks.
the subframe where the peg mounts is a little damaged too. basically, it could use a small metal strip just to prevent the peg from going too far. i'm going to try that, if it doesnot work, will get a new assembly with the peg
