Post by: Diskbrake on October 20, 2005, 05:37:32 PM
I have been told that Renthal bars are more comfortable and make it easier to steer so am thinking of getting some golds ones but i dont have a clue which to get. One guy told me to get Renthal CR high another streetfighter another low.........
Do you lot have any fitted an if so whats the best.
Thanx ian

I'm nearly 100% sure you could find a pair of $15 Bikemaster brand handlebars that would be the same dimensions as the pricey Renthals.

I have had a look at the bikemaster bars and they are alot better priced but they also have alot of options and i dont know which to go for. Should i get higher bars, wider bars etc. Which will improve the handling

You have to answer this question for yourself:

In what dimension(s) do I want to change, if any, from the stock bar?

Then you'll know if you need a taller, shorter, wider, narrower bar.

FWIW, the stock bar is pretty much what's called a Superbike bend.

I have a set of Renthal streetfighter bars on my bike and they are a little lower and wider.
I like the feel of the bike a lot more with the Renthals on and I only had to change my brake hose because of a headlight bracket in the way. Other than that they went straight on.

Yes they are different bikes. Top is a '96, bottom is an "03.

I have a set of gold Streetfighter bars that I'd be glad get to you.

I have Rentall gold 755 bend on my bike now, they are an inch farther back, taller and wider than stock...perhaps a little too wide.

I took the Streetfighter off.  It was too wide for me and not far enough back, but taller than stock. It also has a brace bar that makes adjusting difficult.

I havent heard of the other cheaper bars, I certainly would have considered other bars if available when I needed them.  I took a tumble on the Bandit and bent the stock and broke the steering head among other things.  The gold bars look super.  I first got the Streetfighters then got the 755. I find the 755 pretty comfy, might have taken a half inch of the ends with a hack saw.

send me a private message if you want the Streetfighters.

Love em, had the standard Mx renthals on the B6, the better half don't like them so they have made their way on to the zrx. Comfort, A+++, leverage and cornering A+++.
