Title: Repsol CBR crashes into Gold Wing
Post by: Red01 on June 26, 2013, 02:33:19 PM
Does the CBR ride away with new luggage?  :duh:

My profile shot is a little out of focus, but here's a link to a  Japanese site has more pics and a video walk-around of it.

It was built by Cedric Smith, top wrench at Everett Powersports.  He's cranked out some other custom projects before, too.
First one I saw was back in 2001, he built a 1500+cc Bandit with a GSXR front end.
Cut a GSXR1100 head in half and modified it to work on a GS500. (He built two of those - one a racer enlarged to 650, the other a street machine.)  A GSXR750 with a Hayabusa engine.  An Aprilia RS125 with a CRF450 motor.  A TL1000 powered flat tracker.

Interesting concept, I'd be curious how it actually runs and handles?

The handling portion would be interesting with that much weight although cool looking bike.

With that much weight?   :trustme:
The press, as well as just about any sport bike rider that has ever ridden an 1800 Wing, says they handle surprisingly well.  I'm thinking it will only be better with a near 400 pound weight loss.

Gotta be easier in the corners than this:  :beers:

Ha ha that is an awesome pic! I haven't ever ridden a goldie and although I have heard they handle well for what they are. Changing up the bike geometry as they did and having that weight up front, by comparison to a bandit inline 4, would be an interesting ride.
