Bikers roll to military funerals to oppose anti-gay protests

We've discussed this Rev. Fred Phelps group in the past.  Now someone is countering their rude and disrespectful "free speech".

Bikers roll to military funerals to oppose anti-gay protests

I must relay that I recently attended such a funeral here in Okla City.

One of my coworkers recently lost her son in the Iraq war. He was 31, had a wife and children, and was killed in his tank by IED.

At the funeral, I noticed quite a few bikers in front of the church.  Since I seldom watch the local news, I just assumed they were part of the local VFW / HOG chapter.  When I got back to work, those that didn't attend asked me about the "war protesters".  I said I knew of no protest, but saw the bikers & few folks standing across the street. Local TV and a helicopter were in the area but I assumed they actually cared about the grieving family.

I later checked this out.  This is some extreme right-wing religious group from Kansas known as "God Hates Fags".  I haven't a real clue why they were there just adding to the agony of the situation along with the ridiculous press that publicizes these fools.

I will say that these nuts made a smaller impression than the press and bikers for those of us that didn't know these fools existed until after the fact.

It seems that many profit from the pain of the suffering family.

Sorry, that's all I have to report.  But it is a real observation.

These people(fag haters) sound pretty bizarre to me. What is there to gain by bothering dead soldiers and their grieving families? And what does it have to do with "fags"? Maybe they should try some Xanax before bothering people with their stupid crap. To bad it didn't come in a spray form.

actaully those "reasons" are on their web sites.....they are nuts, that is enough to know.

and they picket all public funerals that give them publicity. Even Mrs King's funeral in Atlanta

Those nut jobs pulled that crap here a month ago at the funeral of a local soldier who had died for his Country serving in the 101st. My Brother was in the 101st and it could have easily been him.

The local VFW has a biker group and they shielded the family from those assholes. There are some sick people in this world. I can't imagine what they think they are going to accomplish by spreading that type of hatred.

I was thinking at the time that they should be set on fire.

if not for the press fueling the outrage, they'd be ignored.  a couple of dumbasses + 50 bikers + the press + helicopter = bull shit

no one should have to put up with that after losing a loved one.
