The sound of it just made the engine even less appealing.

To me, it didn't sound much different from the average inline-4, but then as I recall, the CBX didn't sound all that great with the stock exhaust, either... but with a nice system on it, sounded sweet.

I think is pretty sweet looking, but makes my back hurt looking at it.  The stock sound; I also think is lame, but I'm with Red01 with a set of duals on it it would sound wicked.  Alot like the V-10 pickups they sound like sick V-6s.  I would love to have one, but would hate to feed it.

One thing I've learnt over the years, Is never to dismiss something based on first impressions, especially when it comes to vehicles.

What at first might be ugly, after a short time, your perceptions and attitudes change with regard to what is, or isn't desirable or even just attractive for that matter. Sometimes this "shift" in perception, takes all but a few wee months.

This is especially true with new model cars.

Bad compression on the engine recording. Can't really judge it by that. As for the seat, if Suzuki is too stupid to make it black, the after market will probably have one ready before the bike hits the shores, assuming it goes on sale, and it prbably will in some incarnation. Suzuki's not going to make an engine like that for a "how I spent my summer vacation" project.

By the way, did anyone get a load of that GSR400 that followed the Stratosphere promo on that website? Too bad you won't see that here, eh? That's enough for me to say "Bandit?"...

Yeah, remember how the AMC Pacer grew on ya?  Or the Pontiac Aztek?

But seriously folks, an intial dislike for the Honda Element turned into a sort of affection, and even the Scion Xbox grew on me.  I guess it's just nice when not everything looks the same.  Of course, there are a slew of other boxy vehicles in Japan that we don't have here, so they may not seem so unique over there.

Meanwhile...I still kinda like the Strat's looks.  Not commenting on performance, and assume it will come in some other color, but I like the looks.  As a friend said when I sent him the pic, "it looks like one of those really sharp things the EMT's use to cut your seatbelt off when you're in a car wreck".

OK I'm weird..(I ride a Futura!!) But I like the looks and Paul's right about the sound. I've got a buddy with a '79 CBX and the only mod to it is the back baffle was taken out of the stock pipes and it sounds AWESOME, sounds like a Porsche, very sweet. Bet the same will be said for this bike, and I like the looks!! Am waiting to see pics of the new 1200 Futura tho....
