I have big feet, (14), a lot of street boots don't fit...and I actually like more support.
I usually wear lace up type boots. (I know...the laces can get caught...etc.)
Most of the the time I wear Rocky Magnums, which are a police type lace up boot, kind of between Nam Jungle boots, and normal combat boots. They're pretty light, comfortable to walk and stand in, inexpensive if you hunt on the 'net. ($60 or so)
I like the ability to lace them up fairly tightly. They have varying models, with different soles. Try to get a sole with a defined heel and sole, not the 'flat' soles you see on workboots at times.
They're not re-soleable, and I end up dragging a toe on the right boot....and replace them every 2 years or so.
I did buy a pair of motorcross boots, but the damn things are so uncomfortable, I don't see me wearing them on the street.
