Does anyone happen to know whether the centerstand can be removed without dropping the header pipe? The bolt that holds the centersand onto the frame may not be able to come out unless the header pipe is dropped. I couldn't tell by eye balling it. It looked awfully close to me. Thanx in advance. Looks like my 06 B12 is a simple thru bolt and spring. I don't see a problem.

I have front and rear stands from my sportbikes & it saves the hassle of dealing with aftermarket exhaust issues if they don't come with the tang to put the rubber stop on. Dale Walker's pipe doesn't come with the tang. He makes a kit to drill the centerstand and put the stop on it, then it stops against the bottom of the shock mount. Easier just to use the stands I have, but either way, it isn't a big deal. Cheers, Jack

You don't drill anything to install Dale's centerstand piece. You jut install it.

I was looking at it and it may be close as to whether you need to remove the mid pipe to get the bolt out. You won't have to remove the header, but you may have to remove the mid pipe/exhaust.

That makes sense. I just never owned a bike without a center stand. I bet it's even easier to maintain the bike with front & rear stands. When removing the front tire, I put my bike on the center stand and strap the front frame to the rafters of my garage.
How much does a decent front stand cost?

I use the side stand when I change my front tire and no straps.

There are two kinds of front stands - either under the bottoms of the forks or under the steering stem. Obviously, the ones that go under the stem are better if you want to remove your forks. Pit Bull is kind of the industry standard brand. IIRC, their stands are ~$80-$100USD. I have a T-Rex fork-style front stand that runs ~$50 on ebay...

If you check out Holeshot.com, you will find the installation instructions for Dale's centerstand mount. Unless he's lying in his directions, you do drill the centerstand. Cheers, Jack

Don't have too, I have one installed and remember the installation quite well. One thing that it does mention is that some minor cutting might be needed if it doesn't align right. I didn't have to do any drilling or cutting. Talking about this piece, correct?

No. That isn't the one. Dale's latest one has you drill a hole in th centerstand and mount the rubber stopper on it. When you retract the centerstand, it hits the bottom of the rear shock bracket. Looks pretty sharp. Check it out at holeshot.com. Cheers, Jack

And that's because Solman is looking at the B12 and flickmeister is looking at the b12.5.
Different centre stand adapter for each bike/mid pipe.
