Title: The Test
Post by: scooter trash on March 25, 2005, 07:53:01 AM
Well tomorrow is the day. Tomorrow is the first bicycle race of the year with my newly acquired 1200 Bandit. Going to Charlottesville, VA for the Jefferson Cup road race. Should be interesting. I’ve done the race with my Springer for the last 4 years and I am really looking forward to trying out the Bandit. It will be a good course for the new bike and me. There are 7 races; a 30 mile, three 40 mile, two 50 mile and a 70 mile race with a couple of nice downhill runs, a 180 turn and a few 45 degree turns. This will be a good test because next month is the Tour of Shenandoah, which is a much faster racecourse. http://www.tourofshenandoah.com/  (go to the web site, click on race info, click on stage 4, click on stage 4 profile then do stage 5. Now those are some mean downhill runs !!)
I’ll let you know if it was worth spending the 3K for the Bandit on Monday. Everyone have a nice Easter holiday.

I'm confused here, is this a bicycle race or a motorcycle race?  It looks like a bicycle race.  Do you ride the bandit to the race then hop on the bicycle?  If so, how do you get your bicycle there?

It's a bicycle race. He's a judge or course monitor and rides his m/c along the route to make sure everything is OK.
