Title: took names
Post by: solman on September 29, 2007, 02:53:30 PM
Yesterday for work safety day, we had a big ride. Well on the way back, we split up and the sport bike guys did a run on my stomping grounds.  I ride this road almost every weekend and today, I took names.  Yesterday was the first time where I finally had enough power and skills to overtake some sportbikes and leave a few of them too.  I have been working hard on my skills and it was a fantastic moment for me knowing that I am not the slowest rider.

Nothing spell "confidence" like knowing the roads.... apex, exit, entry points....  If they're lucky they'll keep you in sight to get an inkling of whats coming up.  Good on you BUT.....

....  Ya gotta be careful you don't suck some newbie into a corner they can't handle - I would feel bad about that.

THEN AGAIN - it's an awesome feeling to hand it back to those who've handed it to you before!!!

Long way of quoting what Red posted.....  or not.

For me, I was moving at a very good pace, but my pace is more managable for sport bikes with their braced swingarms and inverted forks.  Now if they try to keep up with one of my regular riding buddies, then we are talking about some possible dilemnas.  In fact he told me later that me pulled back some just for that reason.  Another thing too, they were warned to ride their own pace and not to spend their whole $10 during the ride.
