Looks cool, but mostly is 'all looks', to appeal to the middle aged retread rider. OF course, not off-road worthy at all, the damn thing is fairly heavy, and has no HP. BUT, it's fun to see this 'style' of bike come back!
I had a 175 Honda scrambler as my second bike, and lusted after any of the English 'scramblers', or even a larger Jap scrambler type.

I'd bet it is just as dirt-worthy as the original Scramblers. It's just that dirt bike tech has made light years of advances in the last 35 years. It would be interesting to see how it compares to the Tiger as an off-road mount. At least the Scrambler's pipes don't route under the bike like most adventure-tourers do.

I thought I saw an HP figure of like 55 hp.
The Tiger does more than that, at least 20 more.
I like the Tiger, and wouldn't mind seeing the scrambler at least comparable, performance wise. I do like the look.....

I love the look, too... and 50 hp is plenty off the pavement, especially for a non-competition bike like this. I see no reason why it shouldn't be as good at the unpaved part of the world as the Tiger. Sure, it's not gonna be as quick/fast as the Tiger on the tarmac, but a large part of the Scrambler is curb appeal - or poser value, if you prefer.

I also love the look, but then me and my friend were going to turn a Maxim 550 into a dirt bike!!!! Don't drink and design!! Thank god we killed it before that could happen!
My friend had a simlilar looking 70's Yamaha 125 that kind of looked like that. Ahh the good old days. I must be getting older, but most certainly not wiser!

hey guys from what they are saying over on my triumph board it is revalved stiffer front end and rear end. it is making 56hp at the rear wheel. there is also talk of this bike coming out in a 1000cc version in the near future. the newest tigers put out like 96 at the wheel and are aimed at the street more then the older ones were. they have the same motors as the 955 sprint st. i like what triumph has done with the thruxton and this scrambler.

Saw a red Maxim 550 today in the parking lot...looked like it was in pretty good condition! They are pretty bikes.

I have an old CB550 sitting out back. Maybe I could turn that into a dirt bike. Send me your drunken designs and I'll have a few beers to see if they make sense.

My Dad had a 500 Trophy Trail when I was a kid. I busted both the shocks off the back playing Evil Kenevil. I was jumpig some local RR tracks and had some good distance and hiegth. As you could imagine,he wasn't too happy! I had a 400Suzuki ST at the time,I was pretty brutal on it too. It took a lickin' and kept on for more.

I bet no one that buys this bike will ever even think about offroading with it! It's very authentic looking, low powered like the old Brits, should have similar feel (minus oil leaks and bone shaking and tankslapping). If you were thinking about scrambling, there are much better modern alternatives

Well, this was someone's sober design of how to turn a SV650 into a dirtbike.

But maybe you could take that ol' CB550 and make it look more like the Trumpet and the old Honda CL series bikes - just put a pair of high scrambler pipes down each side..
A pair of high megaphones down each side would look really cool!

Yeah, I think the Scrambler is geared for the 'middle aged with $$, Gee I had a bike when I was a kid and always wanted a......' market.
Beats seeing a Harley at every stoplight!
