Welcome all ye newbies!  :welcome:

Sorry Ian but I had to trash your avatar.  It was like 220 pixles wide and screwed up the board.  Avatars are limited to 125 (or so   ).

Proud owner of an 04 GSF1200S (2nd bike I've owned) with just over 3k miles.  I'm setting up my Bandit for sport-touring and hope to take some weekend trips in the spring.  1st thing to go was the stock windshield - I needed the extra 2 inches.

My 1st bike was a 79 Honda CB750 that came in parts from my brother-in-law.  I worked on the bike much more than I ever rode it...

Visit my home state of West Virginia for some of the most beautiful fall scenery this month.

Well I have had my 96 B6 for about 18 months now. When I bought it it had 16k Mi on the clock didn't seem like it had been mistreated but it needed some love. So first thing I did the Vortex 520 conversion thing (up to 52 teeth) front and rear brakes a set of Pilot Sports and stripped the faded out fairing off. It was riding nice for about a year then I had a little spill, mangled the tank lost a rearset and cracked the rear plastics. Being sans desposable income she sat for a while. I have always liked the Streetfighter look, so I vowed when I put her back on the road she was gettin' "fightered out". I had some practice in the mean time I chopped and fightered my brother-in-law's buell blast. Check it out http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/20164/89848.html I'm the guy with the dremel and the dust mask.
So I got mine in line last month with a new tank, filled the weld at the bottom and the bar recesses, (using MX bars no worries even if I have a tank slapper) I cut the front fender and replaced the B6 plastics and seat with that of an 04 SV650S. I will load pictures as soon as I figure out how. Today I put a yoshi stage one kit in and did my very first carb sync with my $1.94 man-o-meter. Sucked a litte water thru the carbs at first then I tried pinching the tube to act as a restrictor, worked like a charm. She is running bettter than ever and all thanks to you guys and your good old fashion American/British/Canadian(sorry if I missed anyone) ingenuity.
Thanks,
Chuck
When in doubt fighter it out!!!

Hello,

I am a new member of the forum. I am the proud owner of a "new" 2002 Bandit 600S with only 1700 miles. I look forward to many happy miles on the new bike. Previous bike was a 1989 Suzuki GS500E.

Hi

Im a new member here, got myself a 98 Bandit 600s for travelling to and from work (and everywhere else) in all mannar of weather, sun, rain, snow, all of it :)

Had two years off from bikes, and it was probably the most uncomfortable two years of my life. I gave up a Honda VT600C Shadow for a car, and wished I never bothered.

Back on two wheels and loving it!

introducing myself
« Reply #233 on: October 20, 2005, 03:21:41 PM »
Figured I'd introduce myself, like the big print says.

Recently picked up a well cared for 2001 Bandit 1200s.
Totally stock, 5,000 well cared for miles.
Have owned a few of what used to be called UJM's, and this bike is a dream come true.

Past bikes include:

1979 Yamaha xs1100
1980 gs1000
1981? KZ1100 Spectre
1979 CB750F
1976? Yamaha xs350 (I think it was an XS.  It wasn't an RD)

All I can say is they don't make bikes like they used to.  Good thing.

Use bike mostly for local hops, occasional commute, and light touring.

HH

Hey Everyone. I have been riding for a little over a year. Most of my experience was ona 2001 Honda Shadow 750 ACE which I bought for $2000. I then put 16K miles in a year and sold it for $2500 a year later.

I just picked up my new 2000 Bandit 1200S with 8K miles for $3300.
This bike came with a Yoshi pipe, K&N Pod filter and Stage 2 jetting. Im having a total blast and wonder why I didn't swap to the sportbike earlier. Im in a whole new world here trying to learn how to lean these bikes to the max. Going very well so far, and Im still reading tips so I can loose all my riding buddies that blew past me for a year straight.

Nice to meet you all, And Im shure I will be on this site FOREVER, If I sold this bandit I would just buy another. Thats how happy I am with this bike.

My name is Jason and I like pudding!  Just kidding folks.  I am from Buffalo NY and I ride a 2004 bandit 1200s.  I also picked up a 2001 that will become a street fighter.  I love the looks.  My bike has about 7600 miles on it now and I still love that bike.  I came out of three CBR's ( 900RR, 929RR, 954RR) and I like this bike the best.  Great do-it-all bike!
