Re-Introduction
« Reply #315 on: March 05, 2006, 12:11:58 AM »
Hey all,

Just wanted to re-introduce myself.  I stopped by last fall when a friend of mine decided to purchase a used Bandit 1200 and wanted me to be the wrench.
Well, my wife has loved our friend's bike so much that she picked up a left-over 2005 Bandit 1200S from a dealership in Cumming, GA this afternoon (graduated from an SV650!).
She'll kick me and my Vegas' ass all over the asphalt ... but I didn't buy my bike for racing anyways. :)
Can't wait to use the great resources this site has available!
See y'all out there ...

Nah ... I don't mind asking (whatever my price was can only help the next person in negotiations).
I paid $6400 otd.  I probably could've gotten less (think I saw someone else around here getting an '05 for $5700) ... but I was just pleased that my wife wanted this instead of the $10k Speed Triple (and with only one Triumph dealership in the city, I didn't think they were gonna bargain).
Also figurin' we will try to sell her SV650 for $2k ...

Hey Gino, how do you like your Vegas? I bought my '03 1200S this past Sept from a dealer for $5200 and it had 16 miles on it, but if I would have had the extra cash I would have went with the 8-Ball. I saw my first Vegas on the road last week and it was awesome. When I do get my 8-Ball, I'll have to keep my B12 too because I can't imagine being happy trading balls for looks.

Funny you mention the 8-Ball ... my bike actually started it's life as an 8-Ball.  We've got an awesome dealer in North Atlanta and I managed to snag the first 8-Ball sold in the southeast, #5 off the assembly line.  I've done lots of mods to it since then including a paint job (and re-christening to the 7-Ball).  It's a great bike for looks and turning heads ... doesn't hold a candle to the B12 though in terms of speed and sheer fun-on-the-road.  I'm glad my wife got the B12 so I can experience both ends of the riding spectrum.  The Vegas has massive power though ... I moved to it from a Volusia and the first time I cranked the throttle I 'bout crapped my pants going onto I85 in downtown Atlanta.  Felt like I was hanging on for dear life.

Check out better pics of my 8-Ball @

I checked out the pic's. What a sweet ride! The pipes are great and the paint is awesome! Arlen and Cory did a super job designing it for Victory.

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this board and the biking community. I bought my first bike last month, a '05 650 Bandit. I've been visiting this board for a little bit, and I realize alot of you have the 1200, so I hope you don't mind if it's little brother tags along. I can't hardly wait for the some nice weather to start riding it. We've had a few nice days, but my street has a lot of sand and gravel accumulated on it over the winter. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

:welcome: Terry!

We have our share of 600's and you're at least the 2nd 650 on the site.  We even have a couple 400 (me) and 250 members who frequent the regular boards.

BTW - as a new rider, glad you've figured out that sand/gravel/cinders and whatever other wintertime crap you've got on the road is bad stuff for a bike!

Hi, I'm new as well to Bandit Alley. We picked up a B400 for the wife a couple weeks ago. She really likes it. I posted a hello in the 400 forum also. You can see a picture of my Hans Muth Katana there. I'm a big Suzuki Nut. My next ride will be either a B1200 naked or the Stratosphere if it ever makes it to production.

I like the GSR, but the Stratosphere has a lot of the same styling cues from the (real) Katana. Plus the Strat has a really cool inline 6 putting out 185HP

Thanks PitterB4,

It's hard looking at the bike in the garage, when I know there have been days when I could have had it out. But it would be just my luck that I wold drop it as soon as I left the drive way.

Oh well, I guess I'll just put another coat of wax on it.
