Greetings. Raleigh, NC here.
I am currently looking at two different Bandits right now. I beleive I'll have one very soon. At the moment I have a 79 CB750f. I am in the middle of restoring that bike yet I want a great ride now. I have road off and street for years. I'll post a question on a new thread. Cheers all.

I see that you came over to the dark side.  :beers:  As well as my CB900F, I also have a '03 Bandit 1200.
03 Naked Bandit 1200 <br />Vitamin B12, its great for the soul!

Just picked up a green '03 B12S (1760 miles) last night.  Put about another 100+ on the same evening.  My wife talked me into a little newer/nicer/bigger than I'd planned. (Yeah, I married a keeper!)

So, a new Bandito on the road in Lafayette, IN (about 60 miles NW of Indianapolis and 120 SE of Chicago along Interstate 65).

Now, the '85 Kaw 450 our best man gave us as a wedding present last year (as planned, he's got an R6 now) will become my wife's learner.
'03 VW GTI 1.8T
'91 VW Jetta Carat
'94 Mazda Miata

'03 Suzuki Bandit 1200S
'85 Kawasaki 454LTD

Five vehicles for two drivers?  Sounds about right to me....

Wabash:  What's that thing worth over there, I wonder?  North of the 49th, that darn thing would go close to original MSRP! It's crazy but I have a theory that there are so few used bikes up here they are worth a ton.

So to me, the leap to brand new seems so tiny that I don't even have to think about it.  We have two taxes up here (!!) on everything brand new (pst and gst) which are now just going down a tad to 14%.  But if you buy used, you only have to pay 7% so that saves a bit.

But brand new, obviously, you get that warranty so I think it makes it well worth it.

my .02 cents worth

Alright folks? Just saying hi. I'm Andrew, currently in Dundee Scotland. Stumbled across the site while looking for odds and sods for me bandit. I ride a 99 B12 (unfaired) which i've had from new and a forever exploding Malaguti Firefox scooter. Seem like a friedly enough bunch on here.

Hi there!  Heather from Dundee also.... I think I know you Andrew, are you on the DBF forum?

Anyhoos, was trawling through the net looking for an exhaust for my 400 Bandit, and came across your forum.  Hope you don't mind another squeezing in    I'm a motorcycle instructor in Dundee and need the bike for training as well as fun runs.... are you getting I need an exhaust and soon?

It's not very often the sun shines here in Scotland and it has been toasting all week, typical when the bikes off the road eh? Righties, think that's about me then!

Hello all,

My name is Dennis and I'm a new forum member here.  Seems like a great online community!

I sold my last motorcycle ('94 Honda VF750C Magna) to buy a house about 9 years ago and I just recently bought a bike again.  During the interim I had my sights set on buying a '94-'97 Honda VFR but a test ride on a '99 Bandit 1200s about 2 years ago made me stop and reconsider.  When it came time to buy I found a black '98 Bandit 1200s locally that piqued my interest.  The bike was being sold by the original owner because he's buying (or building) a house.  He'd added a D&D slip-on muffler, stage 1 jet kit, and had the bike dyno tuned for smotth power delivery and  to eliminate flat spots.  Also sold with a half tank bra and a tank bag, factory gel seat, factory tail rack, black chain guard, and a new set of sprockets for the next chain replacement.  18.6K miles and, aside from a few very minor scuffs from a driveway drop, it's been kept meticulously (all service intervals documented).  Two minutes into the test ride I pointed the bike towards my bank to have a check stroked.  What a great motorcycle!  The tuning was done well - there isn't a flat spot anywhere in the rev range and it's smoooooooth!!! This bike isn't as refined as the VFR but it's way more fun to ride, has more power on tap than I'll ever need (dyno chart shows 110hp - more than stock?), has a more comfortable riding position (especially for riding 2-up), and was a bunch cheaper.  I picked this bike up for just over $3,000...

I've put about 400 miles on it since I brought it home 3 weeks ago - nothing but smiles and grins so far.
