... new here from Canada, not far from Detroit, been riding for 6 years now.  Real name is Todd.

Partial to Triumphs, but I love my 06 BANDIT.

I bought it new last fall.  Need the cold weather to F--- O--though.  Bring on the Spring!  I enjoy this BBS.
I have been lurking and have made several posts to date.

I hear that!  We got about another 2 inches up here in Morinville today.  And F--- O-- was pretty much what I screamed at the top of my lungs this morning.
It started out like this: :rant2:
then graduated to: :soapbox:
Mellowed to this,by about noon:  :annoy:
Now I'm just like everyone else on the block:

hey,

it took me some time to figure out how to get on this board form the old site, which i attentively read for information on my new bike- 97 b12s.  although i already had some bad suprises with it, its still amazing how cheap these things go, seems to me like one of the best deals in the motorcycle market...well, at least most engine for the buck!
also, i ride 99 gsxr750 (but not for much longer), untill two years ago, for few years had a somewhat mod'ed 2nd gpz1100.  other bikes i had were klr650 (some good, good times on board of that bike, rode its wheels off), 750katana from 96 (funds were low, low) and a cbr900 (that bike took 5 years off my life, with some hair raising moments and inexpirienced ridiculous wheelies)...and a (first bike) 535 virago.
so much.  i live in baltimore, and yet to see another bandit.
since moving here 5 years ago, and leaving my friend, a motorcycle mechanic behind, i have made up my mind to start enjoying the full reachness of motorcycling by doing my own mechanical work accorss the board.  so far, ...okay.
that being said dont be alarmed by banality and ognorance of some of my questions.
28 and single and looking forward to some warmer weather.

I'm from Cambridge UK and currently ride an FJR. I use a bike mostly for commuting and the occasional trip so the FJR is a little big and unwieldy in normal commuter traffic. Great engine though.

However, it's time to change my bike and I want something more manoeuvrable than the FJR but with the same sort of engine flexibility and pulling power. I've tried a few bikes (I'm not into race reps as I don't want weight on my wrists) and the bikes either felt small (Honda CBF1000 or Honda Hornet 900), engines too peaky (Yamaha Fazer FZ1), impractical but fun (Yamaha MT-01) or without enough 'engine' (BMW 1200GS and Moto Guzzi Breva 1100). That's until I tried the new Bandit 1250 - great engine, good size and very usable. It will be my first Suzuki after owning 2 Hondas (CB250K4, CB400F) and 5 Yamahas (YCS5E, DT125, YB100, Fazer 600 and FJR1300).

So, it looks like I'll be placing an order with my dealer.

Here in the States, we get black & red for the non-ABS 1250 and blue for the ABS version... and we only get "S" models, no nakeds and no 650 versions.
As I understand it, in the UK, you get both the naked & S model 1250s in blue or black, but all S models have ABS and the naked ones don't and you also still have new 1200's available as well as 4 versions of the 650 Bandit (air & water-cooled versions of both S & nakeds).

The air-cooled bikes are being phased out. The new water-cooled engine was developed to meet European emission regulations.

Understood.  :bandit:

Are the air/oil cooled models listed as '07's or are these left-overs? The Suzuki UK site isn't completely clear. It doesn't call out what the model year is of the 1200's.

I noticed they're still listing the GSX1400, too. I thought 2006 was supposed to be the last year for that one - just like the 650/1200 Bandits with cooling fins.

Pierre Richards, owner of a new 1250S.  Currently own a 650 V Strom and a new Bandit 1250S without the ABS.  I have liked all my previous bikes ( but was not on particularly good terms with the 1928 Indian) but I really love this one.  Won't give it a name like some obsessive types do (mostly Concours owners, of which I was one - "Old Blue"? "Rattler"? gag me.).  I have owned an Indian Chief, lots of OLD BMWs, includng a couple of side car rigs, Triumphs, Nortons, a Honda St 1100, a bunch of others, but at 72, this is probably my last purchase.  I'll need to something about the handlebars for a bad back, the mirrors show me my elbows, the seat gets hard after 75 miles, but this bike is otherwise perfect for my running around and short 100 mile round trips.  Cost me $8400 for everything, including taxes and plates.
What do we exist for but to laugh at our neighbors and be made sport of in our turn? (Jane Austin)

A belated welcome to all new members... Pod, Nedmold, DGC, SteelD, BBGirl, Frisk...  :welcome:

It does my heart good to see all the new B1250 owners joining up! I was the lone '07 guy for a little while, then Katamaniac got his, now we are becoming a force to be reckoned with...  :bandit:

Ride on!

Alright! new Banditos !   :welcome: Good to see the new Bandit selling. And the older Bandits are ,in my opinion, the best bang for the buck. Easy to work on, and a fun bike to ride.
Way to go Mr. Fisk, There is a racer that I met from noth central Pa.tht still races @ Nelson Ledges in OH,and I'm not sure where else.(Bill Bloom) I believe he's 73 now and still fast.     Dan
