New to the forum and sort of new to bandits.

I had a 600S several years ago and I just traded my FZ6 for a '09 1250S. Mods so far: ZG ST windscreen and SW Motech risers. Planned mods: Givi PLX cases and something with the seat. I would appreciate input on the Suzuki gel seat and the Sargent seat.

Hi All! Picked up my 02 B6 last week and love it !
So far I've changed the horn (louder since it seems people in the GTA are very hard of hearing). Found a great spot so you can't see the ugly sucker. I also like the that now there is nothing blocking the view of the engine, which really makes these bikes look great (IMHO ).
I found the grips a bit on the narrow side, and had planned to add grip puppies, but getting them to Canada is $$$$. Found a thread suggesting that foam bicycle grips from CT ($5) work great, so added those today.
Plan on picking up some heated grips before the weather turns cold.
Oh yeah, I also took a picture of my 80 year old mom on my bike!

:welcome: One and all!  Good to have you.  Speaking of the Seats that's my next planned mod, I need something softer, or a harder backside one.

Nice looking seat Courior!   :thumb:  I saw ones like that (only in black with silver lettering) for sale in the vendor area when I went to the Bol d'Or race in '06. Shape looks a lot like my Corbin, but as I recall, this Euro seat was a lot cheaper (IIRC it was under 200 euros).  If I would have had room to bring one home, I probably would have.  My Corbin (with the CF look cover) has >50,000 miles on it and still looks great.  OTOH, my son has a Corbin (with optional all leather construction) on his 1G B12 with unknown mileage (his bike has just over 50K on it) and it's not holding up as well as mine.  (His has some splitting at the very front and the rear of the rider's scoop has some thin spots that will probably be splitting soon.)

Hello!  This is my 1st post.  Just wanted to say hi.  Been lurking for a while and reading about Bandits.  I live in Bartlett IL (a Chicago suburb) hundreds of miles from any interesting motorcycle roads, so I put lots of miles on bikes finding the great roads in WI, IN, NC, Ozarks, etc.

I have a 77 Suzuki GS750B and a 08 V-Strom (DL1000).  I'm currently trying to sell or trade the V-Strom for a Bandit as I think the Bandit will better fit my style.  From the pics I've seen I really like the red 07 Bandits but I haven't seen one in person yet.

Hope I get a Bandit soon and would love to meet up and ride with any of you Midwest Bandit owners.

Have a great day!

 :welcome: gbw!

Since a '77 GS750B was my first ever new vehicle purchase, I had to check out the link to yours as I was curious if you had a red one or a blue one.  Was surprised to see black, I always thought those were '78 models.  When I bought mine in the spring of '77, the only colors offered were red and blue.  I really wanted a red one, but they were so popular, I was lucky to find one at all, so I settled for the blue.

Here's mine from back in the day:

Sadly, she was stolen from me when she was only 9 months old (and had >17,000 miles on the clock).

Paul,

:thanks: for the welcome!  Looks like a great site.

Great pic! Sad to hear that your new 77 GS750B was stolen, but I guess since it was 30+ years ago you've probably just about gotten over it by now.

I've seen several 77s in original black.  I'm the 2nd owner of mine and it has not been repainted.  I really love the red ones as well.  I actually bought a tank and complete set of bodywork to paint red so I could switch back and forth between red and black if I wanted.  But, the tank ended up being crap and since I got the new bike I haven't spend much time on the GS.  I'll probably sell the new one and the 77 so I can get a 1250 Bandit and fit it with all the farkles I want!

Thanks again for the reply...hope you have a great day!

Just about. What made it especially hard was it was stolen by a guy who WAS my friend.  He was storing it for me while I went on a 6 month deployment - and took it with him when he went AWOL.  For the longest time, I was afraid if I met up with the SOB, I'd kill him.  I had even devised devious ways to torture him to make sure it would be slow and painful.  Came to the conclusion I couldn't do them all because he could only die once.

Hello everyone!  I picked up my new Bandit 1250S (Blue) on Oct. 15 and have about 700 miles so far.  I am no stranger to Zukes and have logged over 100000 miles on various models, including my GS650G (81) that I dote on.  This bandit is something else!  I have added a Holeshot rack and backrest but the rest is stock.  Never have I seen such power and smoothness!  I'd say this is the best bike Suzuki has on the market right now, but of course I'm prejudiced.  I live near Fort Smith, AR.

Firstly...   :welcome: to the site - glad you got the account stuff worked out.

Secondly... you have some GREAT roads up your way - wish I was closer but still manage about 5 trips a year up there.

Hello Physics Teacher and welcome to the forum!  I'm new here myself but am a regular over at GSR.  We met at the Brown County Rally earlier this year, so I can attest to how much you dote on that bike.  Prettiest GS650G I've ever seen.  Hope you post some pics of that new Bandit so I can lust over it.  One of these days (after I sell my V-Strom) I'll join the ranks of the Bandit owners here.

It's a small Suzuki world, isn't it?  My GS is now up to 65000 miles and holding strong.  It's fun to compare the wild wail of the GS at 9000 rpm to the unearthly silence of the GSF.  My wife and I are pretty new to digital photography (I'm 64 and rooted deep in Kodachrome) and I haven't reached the posting photo stage yet.  My 09 Bandit looks pretty much like everyone else's 09 bandit, or the one on the Suzuki site except for the Holeshot backrest and rack.  They're handsome bikes, for sure.  Hard to believe it's the same company that unleashed the water buffulo and the rotary (there, now I've offended someone!)

Hi, Just got my first Bandit after a 10 year break from bikes (dunno where that time went!!) new to forums as well so may be a bit slow with pics and stuff.

Well, i jumped straight in with a brand new 1250 N which i have had now for 2 months . I think i may need a bigger helmet soon to fit the smile it puts on my face every day. awsome fun, really missed it.

I'm in the UK Ipswich on the east coast so just trying to find some good roads at the mo.

cheers

colin.
