GSF1811, your picture reminds me a lot of my visit to Schwarzwald a few years ago.  :thumb:

Hi all, I am Victor. Owner of 1993 black GSF400P. Just sold my 2008 Ninja250R and bought the Bandit. The condition is good, just need to replace the throttle valve of carburetor no.3 (that's what my mechanic said...)
I am from Jakarta, Indonesia.
Here in my country, we don't have so many bike above 250cc. So the Bandit surely stood up among the crowd on the street.
This forum is awesome, got many valuable information.

Regards,

Victor

Im 72 hours/200 miles into my 2003 bandit 1200s.  I bought it for commuting the 27 miles one-way to work-caifornia.

I already know she's a girl because she hurt me on the 80 miles trip. Yes you can sit up straight on the bike, but in cross winds I had lean foward to reduce the lever.

anyway high
5.9L GC...fast
427 sbc 91 vette...sometimes faster
4.7L 06' GC...baby's momma hauler
oh yeah a 49 state 1200s green GSF

I am new to the bandit life. I picked up a 2007 1250 bandit a few weeks ago, 4k miles. this is my first trip back to cycling in many years. I'm looking foward to some riding on this great bike. It appears the previous owner took good care of the bike and installed some nice aftermarket parts. This looks like a great forum to get some good advice from.

Welcome Pacodog ( and a belated welcome to gamewood)  :welcome:

Hope you both like hanging out here. Now with weather starting to change, we should start to see some more activity here on the board. A pretty good group overall, I hope you like hanging out and contributing here.

Hey guys/gals.  I'm a day into my new to me 93 Bandit 400.  I bought it for 250 bucks, not running, been sitting for two years.  Guy before me thought it was the Ignitor, which seems to be a common thing, but after checking it out for "magical smoke leaks" I don't think that's the problem.  As soon as I get a spare battery I'll start electrical testing on it.
Anyway I'm a motorcycle mechanic by trade and training.  I'm here in Colorado Springs, CO, born and raised.  I am certified by MMI, Suzuki, and Yamaha but have worked on everything from Korean and Chinese scooters to Aprilias, Beemers, and everything in between!  I got into bikes in 2006, got bit by the bug BADLY and bought my first bike, an 01 Suzuki Volusia.  Barely knew how to do an oil change on my own at that point.  Now an engine rebuild is fun for me haha.
Let's see... what else am I good for...???  Oh yeah I'm good for security.  I have worked as a bouncer, rent-a-cop, bodyguard, etc while I was in school at MMI and after before I found a wrenching job.

If you have any questions regarding Suzuki factory stuff I can find any owner's manual, service manual, etc back to 2000 on Zuke's website.  Yamaha doesn't have that service but I'm pretty decent with them anyway.

Oh and I don't tend to like Kawis.  Nothing against them, just never really liked the looks, and a Vulcan 750 put me into a guardrail on Monarch Pass in 09, basically ruined my knee (apparently they aren't supposed to go sideways, who'da thunk??? haha).

Oh and for the ladies, I'm single, available, have a really cute dog named Busa (after Hayabusa of course), drive a 4x4 V8 truck, and enjoy tender moments in front of a warm fire...  :trustme:
 :bandit:

Anyway that's me in a nutshell.  Hope I can learn from you guys and contribute to the forum in any way I can!

Ok well after reading a few of the articles I went and pulled apart my CDI.  Yep two resistors in there managed to short out and fry each other.

:welcome: Wrider!  Yup, Vulcan's aren't known for their flat-track abilities.

I spent a few years in the Springs as a little kid in the late 50's and early 60's.  Dad was the Marine Recruiter there back then.  Dad used to take me "Corvette Hunting" on the mountain roads in his Jag XK140 and Austin Healey 3000.  We left there just before I started 2nd grade.  I went to school in the old red sandstone schoolhouse down near Southgate.  I've passed through there a few times since as an adult.  Beautiful part of the country, for sure!  Dad always said the only thing that kept Colorado from being the perfect state was a coastline.  I guess that's why he put in for orders to Washington state and then retired there after that tour of duty.

As for your comments for the ladies... good luck with that.   :beers:
I think the only regular ladies here are in Canada - and are already spoken for.  :evil3:

Thanks for the welcome!  That's awesome to find another person who knows even a bit about the place I grew up!

As for the ladies, well it's always worth a try right?  :bandit:

Hello All,
My name is Dave, I hail from Vancouver, BC
I recently bought a 97 Bandit 1200.  Let me start with my god is this thing strong. The motor feels like it'll keep pulling until it blows up! Love this bike so far....

Mods:
SV Headlight
Barnett Clutch
GSXR indicators
Hindle mid and silencer
todo:
Stebel horn
tune pilot circuit (little too rich, need to tweak mix but waiting for the adjuster tool)
new bars? mabye... I will give it some time as I have come from a custom bobber so I need to get used to holding myself up with my abs vs arms...
RIDE!
Cheers
Dave

Hello, my name is Brent and just back into biking after several years. Bought an '07 1250S with 4k at the beginning of May. Just added 2500 miles and had my first service done. I mostly commute the 8 miles to work in Charlotte, NC. I spent months researching bikes, and decided on a Honda 919 (short city commute). When I went to the dealer he showed me the used Bandit, with Givi cases and it looked brand new. So I got a better all around bike for a few thousand less. Couldn't be happier.

Hi, I'm Jeff from Decatur Il.  I bought an 07 1250S a couple of weeks ago and I have a lot of work to do on it.  Setting it up for longer distance touring next year.  Very nice bike and I think it will work out just fine. Nice forum you have here.
