You guys ever check your helmet visors?

I rode into work today, put my helmet on my desk, and noticed that my visor was a touch wobbly. I popped it off, and the retaining nut that acts as a hinge came with it.

A few twists with an improvised screwdriver and all was right again, but that could have been a real PITA.

Something that I have never, ever checked.

Helmet visor, yes. Mainly in winter though while I'm applying the 'anti fog' solution (shampoo or dishwashing liquid).

One thing on the helmet I don't check as often as I should are the chin straps.

I was leading a group ride this spring, and we had to stop and find a dealer in the middle of the trip, because one of the riders had a Shoei Hornet DS that lost one of its visor retaining screws.  That visor was literally flapping in the wind.  I check mine every once in a while now, due to that.

I had never checked the bar end weight fasteners on my Throttlemeister and a few weeks ago, I lost the end weight off the left bar end.  The part that goes into the bar to hold it on stayed though, despite not having anything to make it stay.  I guess time and the elements were enough to hold it in place... so rust can come in handy sometimes.   
The folks at Throttlemeister were kind enough to send me another weight and bolt for $20 + shipping (~$5).

My kickstand is always loosening up. Once I lost one of it's two retaining bolts. I had it replaced and just a few days ago I'm noticing the bike's somewhat sliding into it's park space. Time to tighten the suckers up again. I wonder if Loctite would help.

I'm sure Loctite would help.  If it still manages to work loose, you can flatten a thread or two out neat the end of the bolt so the nut won't vibrate past that point, just not so flat you can't turn the nut off with normal hand tools.

Why worry about normal hand tools? (Yes, I'm being argumentative).  Oh, yeah, some people prefer normal.  My bad.
