In a desperate need of a stator cover.

Hey guys.

Since i have had a tremendous amount of help and support from here, i taught i would ask you guys first for this.
On Saturday night i managed to crash my bike. I was braking when the front wheel managed to slip underneath me and i fell to the side, i slided about 10-20 meters on the asphalt and managed to slide the bike on it's stator cover.

So, if any of you guys have a spare stator side cover just laying around, then please let me know, so i can have my little bandit running again.

Im in Estonia, i looked up ebay.co.uk, but i didn't see any of that would fit mine. They looked similar but weren't quite the same.

Maybe photo of old one (or significant difference between yours and theirs covers) would be helpful. And also the model year of your bike.

this looks to me (at first sight after attending motorcycle meetup 'til 03:00 and not sleeping more than 4 hours)  like fairly standard 89-92 cover.

Tonis,

The cover picture you posted is not a Stator Cover. 

The cover you posted is a left-hand engine side cover which is the cover for the toothed wheel and the variable reluctance sensor (the pulse generator).

The Stator Cover is on the right-hand side of the engine (because the engine's rotor is mounted on the right-hand end of the crankshaft, and the Stator sits within the rotor).

Yes, i am aware of that.
But when i googled it, all the results came back that this is called the stator cover and the right hand cover is called the clutch cover.

I am currently looking through germany's ebay page, i hope i can find the cover there.

If that is your actual cover I don't see what's so wrong with it that it's keeping you off the road... Just my two bits.

Naa, its not the one that was on the bike when i kissed the pavement, but its an older one, but this has stress fractures in it and it leaks oil.

You can try a metal epoxy as a temporary fix till you find a cover. At least that way you can still use it

There are also knockoffs from China. I can't speak to the quality or if they'd fit, but might be worth a shot.

patched it up with some metal epoxy. Seems to be holding.

I thought of making a repair video also, but yeah. :D
I'm thinking of making a full fault finding and repairing video also in the winter times, cuz i think i will change one of the camshafts because of excess wear.
