Title: NE Get-Together
Post by: Kamzilla on April 15, 2005, 04:31:59 PM: Hey guys, since some of us probably aren't going to be able to make it to the BOSS Rally, perhaps we can have a regional get together? Not sure what's a good time or place for everyone, but I'm thinking some time in June, perhaps out of Milford PA?

Drop some thoughts, suggestions...

Post by: Kamzilla on April 17, 2005, 12:56:24 AM: I chose Milford because it's in the Poconos and there are a lot of great roads out of it. Port Jervis is also nearby if it works for people. RoadRunner magazine ran a write up about the area and included some great route maps a while back, so I was using that as a suggestion...

Might be a good excuse for a gathering.....sneak out and ride during the morning practice sessions.....get back in time for the afternoon races. :motorsmile:

Post by: B12Teuton on April 26, 2005, 03:32:58 PM: I tried to organize a B.O.N.E.R. (Bandit Owners North East Ride) a couple of years ago, but I got too busy to make it happen. There was a lot of interest. Even the Ohio folks were into it.

You gotta go up to the Adirondacks. Best riding in the northeast.

I'm definitely still interested. I have no idea if I can do it yet, though. I'm not even thinking of mentioning it to the wife until after I get back from the rally. I'm thinking that the weekends might be crazy with traffic up there during the summer. What would you all think of a Friday? Maybe get motel rooms for a Thursday night, go up after work, hang out, get up in the am and ride all day then head home? Just a thought. IF I can go, the last Friday in June would work for me.

Again, if any or all of the above doesn't work for someone or just seems like a bad idea, do something else b/c I would put my chances of going at about 30% or less. I would love to see it happen whether I'm there or not.

A bunch of us do it evey year.. ride NH - shoot the kangamagus highway (twisties), lunch at the base of Mt Washington, then ride to the summit..

As for getting together with everyone, I figure I'll post up when I'm headed into the Poconos or will ask if anyone's down to ride randomly. Hopefully I'll get to meet a few of you guys, as it seems we have a good community here.

In the meanwhile, ride safe everyone!

i vote for a saturday run so i leave boston ride down stay in a motel and run back on sunday

I'm doing Saulte St Marie/Grand Rapids/Port Huron on June 23/24. I'm trying to do a trip to Montreal as soon as possible. Then in August I'm doing a Northeast tour with my squeeze. Dang, I sure hope the weather gets better.

Early June works. Anyday of the week except Thursday. I work more than one day a week but Thursday evening id the only shift I can't flex.

Nope - I have family coming in that weekend. The following weekend could be a possibility for me.

You guys in the NE have the best roads anywhere. I was down to Corning and Elmira a week ago and I thought this would be a great spot to live – there are no straight roads anywhere.

Post by: Tundrahog on May 30, 2005, 11:44:12 AM: I agree. I live 20 minutes from Elmira and now that I have a decent bike, I'm staring to explore. Went around lake Seneca Saturday (no I didn't stop at the vinyards, that would be nothin' but trouble :beers: ). The main roads were great for cruising, but if you get off the beaten path a little there are some nice twisties. One thing to be careful of in this area, if you cross into PA, the roads are not maintained as well, potholes and gravel everywhere :shock:
