Went out riding with half a dozen guys from work today. I'm thinking this may be one of the last nice weekends of the year :crybaby:
The good news though, is that we found a new road an hour from home. About 30 miles of twists and turns, most of which had been recently repaved. We liked it so much we turned around and did it again! :banana: :banana:
Also broke the 5000 mi mark for the year today. Way more than than Ive ever ridden in a summer. Man I love this bike!! :motorsmile:

Hey Tundrahog, what road was that. I'm only about an hour south of you and looking for some new twisties. I rode route 125 from Shamokin to Tremont yesterday. Good pavement most of the way with lots of twisties and a few 180 switchbacks which I really need practice on. Great road if you get down that far. :beers:

Rt 154- runs from Laporte to Canton. mostly quick sweepers and a hairpin thrown in to keep you honest. It's in good shape until you get a couple miles out of Canton. If you're feeling adventurous, from Canton go west on 414. That road will twist you up good. The surface is a little rough so you have to be alert.
Actually I've got Rt 125 marked on my map as one of the roads I want to ride. I'm not sure I could make it down and back in a day without being wrung out. I did consider making it part of a two day trip for an Ephrata Sunday!

I've run 154 but not all the way to Canton. 87 is pretty good too and the road is nice and smooth. No hairpins but nice riding all the way from Dushore to Montoursville. There are alot of good roads around the Rt 125 area. Would definately be worth the trip.

I apologize for not getting a Bandit ride together at Ephrata. Today was the last one of the year, I think. I am way too worn out from the track to have made it today. I did get there a couple times but both were last minute decisions.
I've never ridden 125 but it has a great reputation. It is a popular post Ephrata trip. Next year!

I've been thinking it would be a good trip, but I usually work 6 days a week in the summer, so trying to squeeze a long trip like that in is rough. Maybe I'll take a couple vacation days next year and check it out.

If there's no snow or ice on the road, I'm riding! You should look into a pair of grip warmers. It's probably the best 30 bucks you can put into your bike, and extends the season by months.

Come on, It`s not uncommon to get a good fifty degree day at any time during the winter. New years day me and a bunch family and friends went for a New years ride. I believe it was about fifty five. I don`t live to far south from you guys.

OK I'm a wuss-- what can I say? Actually the cold air isn't what bothers me. It's the road conditions that scare me. You know,-- that little patch of ice in the shade that I hit leaned over into a corner. The pile of cinders and salt left on the road from the last snow. :crybaby:
I do get my bike out and cruise around town if the weather is decent. But, that ain't ridin! :motorsmile:

Yeah - once the snow flies up where Jon and dsartwell are, the roads turn to shyte. They're up along the NY/PA border (especially Jon) where there's a helluva lot more snow. Cinders everywhere. :pukey:

I've put the bike away for the winter before, and felt like a crackhead without his fix. Every day, I'd wake up to check the weather just in case the weatherman was wrong the night before. Since then, I haven't put her away.
If you guysa rea nywhere near Port Jervis, I know what the roads are like over there. I've headed out in the dead of winter to those parts only to wonder if it was worth the headache from stressing out about road conditions and the salt that covers the bike afterwards. Sucks.
Rob, the guys I ride with here in NYC go to PIR pretty often, perhaps you've met some. Sometimes, they put up a SBONYC banner (sports bikes of New York City). I haven't ran the track myself, but maybe next season...

I don't recall seeing the banner. I've only been there twice and once was sponsered by a local dealership. There were a lot of folks with NY tags on their bikes there on Sat. I kept running up on them wondering why they hadn't taken their tags off. :?:
