Laguna Seca - July 22-24
« on: March 23, 2011, 02:13:37 PM »
Hi Guys

Cargo7 and I are going to the Moto GP at Laguna Seca in July. We loosely plan to leave Canada (location tba) likely Monday, July 18th and plan to be back in Canada Friday/Sat July 29/30th. (In need to be at may parents for the long weekend here).

Anyway, 2 Bandit Alley guys committed, and 1 of by riding buddies from Calgary very likley. Ron and I have booked our race tickets for Turn 11, and have a hotel south of the track for Thurs through Sunday nights.

If anyone else wants to try to meet up or tag along, let me know. We could use more company. We plan to do some riding arount Monteray before and after the race, and would be happy to meet up with anyone who wants to ride.

If you do get over to Monterey, head south down highway one and go though Big Sur and areas there about.  Some of the most beautiful parts of California outside of Yosemite.  About a 2 hour ride south from Carmel to Morro Bay.

Thanks canyonbreeze

Yup...I was up Hwy 1 from Hurst's Castle to Monteray a couple of years back...in the MOTORHOME!!  :annoy: Maybe not the best choice, and I have been wanting to go back ever since. When I was a young kid, we lived in Pacifica, just south of San Fran, and used to camp at Big Sur all the time. I want to go back and spend some more time in the area.

I have the Destination Highways book for North Cal, so have a bunch of roads I want to do in the area. Haven't planned the route yet, but there are a bunch of roads in the area we want to ride.

Would dearly LOVE to go to the MotoGP, but its not in the cards this year.  With a 30 year wedding anniverary and the celebratory vacation time/money for those plans, I can't do it this year... even considering I would have a free place to stay ~90 miles from the track at my sister's place.

I might be in for part of the trip--I just don't know for sure yet. I'll have a better handle on it by early June.
