Check in here if you're interested in a ride this coming Saturday (3/12/05). Meet at the Denny's just off I-5 at the Arlington/Sylvana exit. (East side of the freeway.) Plan to depart at 9:30, show up early if you need to gas up, coffee up, or grab breakfast.
I still haven't made a determination exactly where we'll go yet, so if you have anything in mind, I'm open to suggestions. Currently thinking about SR9 to Sedro-Wolley and the Skagit River Road to Marblemount. Maybe even up SR20 to the road closed gate near Ross Lake.
It's OK with me if you bring a fellow rider, regardless of their choice in make or model, as long as they're comfortable with riding with us.
-
But I am still waiting on a few more parts (break pads) last i check stopping was important.
-
See ya Saturday, hopefully with a few friends.
If anyone is "on the fence" about going, this S. Skagit Hwy is a fine ride! Beautify, twisty, and lightly travelled.

I'm still 50/50.
-
Unless things change between now and Friday, looks like I won't be able to ride for as long as I wanted...
I'll have to be in Everett by 1430 for work.
And here I figured since I worked last w/e I wouldn't have to this one.
Oh well, at least the pay is good.
-
Paul,
Now that is a drag. The weather report just keeps looking good.
Are you still up for some kind of ride? We could either choose an alternate course or, depending on who wants to do what, you could bail out at some point huh?
I'll let you know what, and if I hear from anyone else.

I'm still up for a ride, just have to make sure I make it to work, too.
-
Looks like you may get some of our San Diego RAIN...sorry
-
Not real likely according to the "sun" icons in our forcasts. With the NC Hwy still closed that should minimize traffic also. If you left Friday morning you should be here to join us :bandit: Saturday morn.
This has been a magical winter up here in the NW. T-shirt weather in early march.

North Cascades highway opens tomorrow.

Call in sick, Paul.
-
Hmmm... maybe call in sick tomorrow when the pay is 1x instead of Saturday when it's 1.5x - certainly don't wanna miss any of Sunday's 2x pay. :duh:
-
So Paul, what is the exit number there? I looked on a couple of map programs... 208? 212?
A guy from work (R6) plans to meet us there but asked for the exit #, so far I can't deduce it from a map. I figure being your neck of the woods you could come up with it. I'm still hopeful my buddy with the Superhawk will show.
The weather is still looking good!
Bobcat, you in?
Steve
I'm guessing 208
-
Pretty sure it is Exit 208, in any event, it is the exit just north of the rest stop just north of Marysville/Smokey Point.
Sign should say something like "SR530 Arlington Silvana"
I go by it almost everyday, but don't pay that much attention to it, I guess.
-
It's exit 208.
I'm not going to be able to make this one guys. Ride safe.
-
Not even for a short one, eh? Remember, I've gotta be at work by 2:30, so you could be home early...
-
Doing the family thing tomorrow over on Whidbey.
-
Maybe next time then... when we can get some more participation
-
Well, to all who missed a beautiful day to ride with us - :stickpoke: too bad! :monkeymoon:
Maybe it's a good thing Bobcat didn't come, or one of the 4-5 cops we saw over our 200+ mile journey would have stopped us.
FYI Bobcat, SR9 is nice and clean now! :beers:
Steve & I had a great time. Ran N on SR9, E on South Skagit, NE on SR530, E on Rockport-Cascade to Marblemount. Topped off the tanks and took a little break. Headed back W on Rockport-Cascade, SW on SR530 to Arlington where we went S on Jordan Rd to Granite Falls, W on SR92 to Lake Stevens, S on Machias Rd, W on Bunk Foss Rd (my kids call it Butt Floss Rd), W on US2 into Everett . . . and :duh: work!
-
We even had so much fun that about half way through Paul decided to try riding bareback
(http://img157.exs.cx/img157/3237/im000045small0lw.jpg)
It was a beautiful day and a very nice ride. Paul can get in more riding before work than most folks get into a weekend.

Just showing Steve what the storage tray above the battery is supposed to look like...
-
Yeah,
With the little rubber dammits it looks like 38 bucks! :monkeymoon:
But it will be mine soon. :bigok:
I was happy as long as you kept that seat on!

In the early 70's I used to live on the old hwy 3 north in Chico,....central kitsap county. The I 5 used to end right there. Could see Mt. Rainer from my front window. Then the damn hippies moved in and the place went to hell after that......LOL
-
Looks like fun. Be glad I wasn't there, or we'd all still be in the pokey.
-
GAAAHHH! Curse this thing called work! I was in Atlanta on business travel!!!! Missed it... :duh:
-
Sorry, was wondering why we hadn't heard from you in a while.
How about you set up the next one, that way you know you'll be able to make it.
