Located in the beautiful Banana Belt of Roseburg Oregon, only a short hope to Creswell.
Ride an 03 Green B12s with hole shot pipe, stage one, fender bob, Dales great flush mount turn signals.
Wife rides on the back with her expensive corbin seat and back rest.
Trying to get her to let me buy an SV 650 (ulterior motive) but she prefers to be a passenger and enjoy the ride.
Will making a number of trips this year, really need to get up north to ride with our northern brothers and sisters.

Post by: tacoman on March 23, 2005, 01:58:13 PM
I'm in the Puyallup/Tacoma area of Wash., home of uncontrolled subdivisions and urban sprawl.  Luckily, I only need to motor about 70 miles south to get to good riding areas.  I have a '97 B6 but with a daughter born 10 mo ago riding time has been reduced.  I still get out to my favorite areas, mainly St Helens and Chinook pass over to Yakima wine country (I can fit 6 bottles in my tail pack).  I should have a little more time this spring/summer so keep up the posts if anyone has good ride plans.

I live in Edmonds, just north of Seattle, just south of Everett. I've got a 26 year old SR-500, a 20 year old BMW car, a 15 year old yellow dog, and my 2001 b12s in Stunning Shimmering Silver      :monkeymoon:     !!!

:stickpoke:  Whatzattabout  :duh:  it's red. maybe with a bit of metalic but red. You know, the loooong slooow waves. Whattaya "beautiful Candy Velvety Maroon 01", nope - it's red01 right?

Tell ya what, if we organize a cruise down Broadway we actually might do better if we  pass the bikes off as "Stunning Shimmering Silver" and "beautiful Candy Velvety Maroon 01", otherwise it's silver & red. Nice try though!

Oh yeah, and sometimes I get out for a ride w/ red01 here   :beers: .

Yeah I can just hear the dialogue at Ma & Pa's Fill 'em Up & Go now, "lookie Ma weez got us one a dem red soozooky scooters at the pumps rite naw". "Pa yew simple jackass, can chew see that is a beautiful Candy Velvety Maroon scooter if ewe ever seen one, dumass"

Steve, when you see the ass end of a silver bike as much as Paul does, you have to make up fancy, uppity names for your bike to make you feel better.

Anyway, I ride an '02 B12S in silver. I live about 10 miles from Paul.

Yo, I got a 03 B12s, been reading Bandit Alley for awhile but just started checking it out more. Any rides in the near future Id be up for. The bandit is a great "naked" bike. I love the torque and HP, burns the shi* out of harleys, BMW and the snooty like....

Ampster!...That is a beautiful shade of red, no doubt.
I'm off in the lower end of Clark county..Washougal WA.  Home of the Nationals level MX track that they won't let me set foot on with my YFZ450 because of AMA's insurance restrictions :crybaby:  :boohoo:
Picked up an '02 B12 in Silver last week, it has the stock seat so I'll probably have my butt modified for comforts' sake
I've jumped out on Highway 14 a couple of times for a cruise, but I don't have the gnads for I-5.  I'm eyeballing a run on 101 later in the year though.

We just had a ride down in your neck of the woods a few weeks back... on the east side of St.Helens. I ended up doing a 5 hour drone up I5 in the rain to get home when we were done... now that part of the ride SUCKED!!!

I'm sure we'll be doing that run again during the summer... the roads around there are too mch fun not to!  :bigok:

We should try the ride again after Labor day weekend.  The crowds die down and the weather is usually better.  Snows are long gone and the road moss is gone too!  I've gone as late as mid-end of October and had a great time, open roads with no one around.

Greetings from the Ferndale area.  I have a silver '02 B12 that's bone stock.  It's my 5th bike and by far the best.  I've put 11K miles on the bike since I bought it new in 2003 from Everett Motorsports.  I'll be going over the N. Cascades on 7/23 and then on to Spokane.  Anybody want to join in?

Stay tuned... sometimes the notices can be short. If you check the board often, folks looking for company can PM you.

I rarely know if my weekends are free until Wed or Thurs prior. IIRC, Tacoman was going to arrange a St. Helens ride after Labor Day when the traffic isn't so bad.

I've been wanting to make a run up the Mt. Baker Highway and throw in a few other area favorites, but it's looking like my weekends this moth are already planned between work, a wedding and a camping trip.
Title: trip
Post by: tacoman on August 05, 2005, 01:33:59 PM
I'm planning a trip or two, I really like late September and early October.  The weather is nice, most RVs are put away, no snow yet, moss off the roads, etc.  I'm like Paul, never sure what's up for the coming weekend  until about Wed.  Things seem to slow down some after Labor Day though.  The Baker Hwy is a ride I'd like to take.  I have a long lost cousin recently found who has a restaurant in Glacier, he'd be more than happy to have a group of Bandits roll in.

Go to Anacortes and get on the ferry that goes to Orcas Island. When you get off the ferry, take the main road up to Eastsound and head east to Moran State Park. After you pass thru the park's entry arch, and the lake on your right, keep an eye out for a fork off to the left, that's the road up Mt. Connie.

:bigok:  :bigok:      :bigok:  :bigok:

It's best to go during the week, if you go on a weekend, be prepared to suffer going the speed limit (25) - or slower - behind all the tourists.

We went out to the Penninsula that day. The Mt. Connie pics are from when a group of guys from work got together and played hooky from work one day. I've been up there with Jeff & Gina (the couple you're talking about - that are divorced now) before, too... back in '04 when Jeff hosted a PNW Banditfest on San Juan & Orcas islands. I was just up there a couple of weeks ago with my wife on our anniversary, but with the car instead of the bike.

This is forum is great!  I live in Spokane, WA and have a 96 B6S in exotic Marble Italian Red.

I've had her since March of 2005 and I am thoroughly pleased with the bike and this newly found hobby.  I commute cold, rain or shine and enjoy some weekend rides as well.

Any other red 96 B6Ss in Spokane?  Would love to see what kind of mods you've done.

What are u talkin bout brotha?
Its warm here now. Yesterday I was workin on my porsche 912 with no shirt on and was sweatin like mo fo.
Anyways, by august it gets up to high 90s even over hundred degrees on other areas.
Weather here is probably the best in the summer the heat bearable on a bike the wind feels great.

If ur talkin bout the snow where I parked my bike on the side of the road, I was up mt. Baker by the ski lodge. No ice on the road all the way up there now.its not even wet. That picture was taken may 5 of this year.

And that's exactly why I love Spokane.  I was able to ride on dry roads last November and again in February.  Not too shabby.  You get the best of everything here.  A little cruise will take you to desert-like areas, mountains and lakes.  A white xmas, spring showers, hot and dry summers.  Mo better than Alaska that's for sure! :)

I'm still learning the ropes, so if you see me on the road pardon me for the gear-crunching, clutch-buring, both legs on the road action....  :clubme:

oh the 912 is a big pain in the ass!
there's always something wrong with it.
it's old you know. 1966
but i love this lil car.
can't seem to let it go.
it's not a fast car or impressive as the 911 but i didn't buy it for the speed
i got it coz of the rarity of it.
it's the 3 gauge model. i'm sure they're somewhere scattered in the u.s. but i just haven't seen one like it yet. most of em' are made with 4 gauges.
when it runs it's all eyeballs
but it's a pain!!!

howdy, new to the forum but not to bandits.

New ride: '93 B-4 with Yosh 4-2-1 and a need for a little tuning work.

location: Spokane, Spokaloo, Spocan't, Spokompton or whatever the hell you want to call it.

I'm really happy to be back on a bandit after 6 years of no bike at all. My last was a '91 B4 so its just like coming home....

If you see me, I'm on an all red B-4, silver wheels, black leather boots, jacket, gloves and a much marked up black HJC helmet with a little blonde ponytail pokin' out the back.

personal crap: 36 y.o., married, three daughters. own a bar in town (Far West Billiards), spend way too much time on my computers (linux junkie) and am trying hard to find time to work on and ride my new toy.

cheers

Just saw this thread. Heya folks! Im pretty new to this forum but have already found an endless well of info for my rebuild. Im doing a ground-up rebuild of my '01 1200s. I had the bad pistons in mine and replacing them somehow snowballed into the biggest project ive ever undertaken.

Oh, and i live in Burien, right behind the Seatac airport

What kind of problems have you snowballed into?

not problems, im just able to talk myself into "while im replacing this, i might as well replace that" and upgrading everything somehow. A piston swap became a frame up rebuild somehow lol :beers:

Just pick up a wineberry? (that's what I call it) 07 1250s. What a ride !!!! Perfect for Marine View Drive, out in the Federal Way area. I have already custom pinstriped it. Along with my 05 C50T, this is going to be a great summer.  I look forward to meeting up with some of you..

Title: Lewis County B12 Owner Checking In
Post by: patriot1876 on June 09, 2007, 03:35:43 PM
Hey all...

New to the forums, but, read a LOT before posting.

I'm in Centralia; just picked up my 2nd B12 ('03 Silver B12S, starting mods)(had black '98 B12S).  Nice to see there are a few owners/riders of Bandits in WA and up North.  I'm looking to do some weekend rides up on the Peninsula over the summer.

If ever heading down I-5 through my area, drop me a line.  Or if planning a ride (I see there is one two weeks from now, but I'll be out of town.... drats); please let me know.

Glad to be here!

You can bank on at least one run down the east side of St. Helens - that's in your back yard!

YOU wanna set a date? Any idea is FS99 is open out to Windy Ridge yet?

Just about to break 500 mile. Now I can rap it up to 7000 RPM. I reset my suspension settings, and I'm looking to roll. I just hope the weather will be better than this weekend.

Not sure, but I can check on it today.  I've been spending the last few weeks just scouting roads as much as possible up on the Peninsula, Grays Harbor, Lewis and some Cowlitz County.  Rainier got hammered pretty hard last fall, will never be the same again.  I'll post tonight or tomorrow on FS99.

Soonest I'll be available is June 29th.

Checking in here! Live in Snohomish and work all over the area ... wherever duty calls. Picked up a new Bandit 1250 lately, and I also enjoy occasionally poking holes in the ozone layer with my old GT750 2-stroke.

I'm always up for a ride and meeting fellow twisty lovers. Drop me a line!
Title: 97 Bandit 1200s
Post by: Pauly on September 09, 2007, 08:34:54 PM
I have a Blue 97 Bandit 1200s like the subject says and live in Kirkland, WA.  Lately I have been going for long rides on the weekends with my dad Red01 (for people that frequent these boards).  I would love it if a few more Bandits wanted to head out we usually go 1 day early till late on Saturday but whatevers clever.  I definately want to hit Baker (again   ) and I dont think Hwy20 will ever get old.  Also want to get down to the West side of St. Helens and maybe even over to the Old Spiral Hwy once before the season ends.

So if your going on a ride or would like to go on one hit one of us up and lets do this already.

 :welcome: GP!

I know St H is a lot closer to you, but have you ever been up the Mt Baker Hwy?  If you like St H, you'll like that one, too... and it was just repaved a couple of years ago and it's not nearly as bumpy as the roads around St H.

OK guys...it's starting to sound like there are a few more interested PNW guys this year...we should start planning a PNW Bandit ride soon. I will have lots of time and energy for making trips this year, and other than the big yearly ride with my Cranbrook buddies, I am hoping to make several trips to the west this year.

I want to do St Helens from both sides, Mt Baker, the roads around Ranier that I haven't done (still a bunch according to my DH book) and likely Vancouver Island. My buddy Steve (Concours 14) has moved to Nanaimo from Vernon, so I need to go farther west.

Cargo7 is game for any PNW rides this year (after standing us up in '06 over a little snow!!)...so let's start committing to an early season ride...maybe early May? Who's game?

I haven't done Baker .. I guess i will put that on my list for this year ( I get 5 weeks vacation   :taz: ) ..more than willing to go on a one day ride ( I only have Saturdays and Tuesdays off) ...so any sat when there is no ice on the road( or if anything lines up with a vaction day/week...i..I am willing ...gotta warn ya ...I don't go slow in the twisties....really looking forward to riding with some guys that aren't afraid to lean it over  ( I was whacking tree limbs with my shoulder  coming down St Helens last time :)
I want someone to put me in my place( so far my friend on his Hayabusa and a guy I met last summer on his 14 conny couldn't keep up ) ..not bragging ..I know there are 100,000 guys out there that can hand me my lunch ...I just want to meet some of them so I can learn ...

Certainly up for a day ride in the St Helens area. A bit limited on free time and saturdays are best but keep this post current with lots of rides and I will be able to participate

:welcome:  I sold a 2001 B12 about a month ago... but it was a S model and not thru CL.  I started missing it immediately - even though I hadn't ridden her in more than 6 months.

Yeah, that's the problem, as soon as you sell something like this, you really miss them.  That's why I still have my 84 V65 Sabre.
