Title: B12 Frame sliders
Post by: PeteSC on May 22, 2005, 02:05:41 PM
A couple people asked at the rally about my frame sliders.
Here's the guy that makes them, and sells them on EBAY.

These look like mine, except with some carbon fiber tape applied to them, jacking up the price.
I guess you could email him and ask for plain ones, if you want.

Pete can you post a closeup pic of the sliders on your bike?

Pete, is that long enough and/or in a spot to put your feet on? Not looking for "highway bars" but maybe a couple of minutes in a different position.

I like the oil cooler cover

I put them on my bike and yes, you can put your feet on them just temporarily to stretch. You kind of have to pigeon toe on them lest you burn your ankles, but it can be done.

Installation was very straight-forward but I question whether or not the threaded studs used for the mounting can take the gaff of a fall over.

I personally just use the Suzuki engine guards.  They wrap around the engine quite nice and work very well.  A friend of mine in Phoenix had his son riding on his Bandit and went down on it.  the engine guard definitely proved to be a worthwhile investment.  Besides, they look so slick, most people don't even notice them at first.
