BanditAlley Cup
« on: December 25, 2007, 10:40:21 PM »
Jay gave me a BanditAlley coffee cup for Christmas and I wanted to give y'all a first hand review.

First, let me say that it works awesome.   Right off you can see that its a Man's-Size cup.  This is not a silly little tea cup or the like.  It holds heat in very well and when you take a sip out of it, not a single drop is lost or spilled.  Its durability is also noteworthy as I accidently bumped it on the counter while putting it in the dishwasher this morning and not a single scratch, nick or crack.   The artwork is outstanding and also durable.  I'd say that the cups temp was nearly 212 degrees F at one point and its finish and color stayed perfectly intact.  I would highly recommend this cup to anyone who is serious about their coffee and does not want to risk an equipment failure while in the office or on the road.

I got a bit of a giggle out of this review.  It's like there's only so much you can say about a mug, and you managed to say it all.  You should see if Consumer Reports has any job openings.  Thanks for posting...it's good to know the Cafe Press stock is good quality.

I was a little disappointed to find out this topic was not about a new hockey play-off being sponsered by Bandit Alley, though...

Not sure about a playoff but there is a little New Years Eve thrashing about to take place in Dallas....   :stickpoke:

Dave -

Have you found that one liquid soap works better than another on this cup?

I hear there's a new synthetic soap that gets great reviews from the GSXR mug crowd.

I wish I could challenge you on that point, but the Predders have had a rough year  The whole sale/no sale/sale thing really screwed them over.  Kiyotes, Caps, all my faves are cellar-dwellers this year, except the Avalanch'e.  At least the RiverKings are 1st in the Northeast.  Yeah, that's right, Memphis is in the Northeast.  Check out a map sometime!

Laughable for sure... sorta like Dallas being in the Pacific.

Do NOT use the synth unless you want to experience slippage - possibly causing breakage!!!  YMMV

Actually, I find that regular Cascade liquid dishwasher soap works wonders.  It gets it darn clean without a hint of water spotting or stains.  I try to wash it regularly to keep internal build-up to an absolute minimum.  Please keep in mind that the cup is still under warrenty.  The owners manual says to use only a "mild detergent" for cleaning.  I don't want to risk using a synthetic cleaner until its fully broken in.  At this point, I only have 3 heat cycles on this cup and I'm sure the finish is not fully seated.

One plus of the Cascade liquid... it's septic safe.
Much better than powdered soaps.
