Bohn Body Armour
Just got a pair of the armored pants.
Easiest way to describe them is...they're very stretchy LEOTARDS with armor!
You wear them under jeans, or under your leather stuff for more protection.
They are very stretchy....lightweight. Should be fairly cool in summer.
You have to position the armor over your knees...but the fabric is stretchy enough..it should stay there.
The fabric itself is not designed to have any abrasion protection. You gotta wear something sturdy on top of them.
(BEsides...you'd really look strange!)
I got the cheaper pants with the knee/shin armor, and hip pads. For $20 more you get a tailbone pad.
The pads are fairly flexible. The knee and shin pads are a one piece setup.
I think they'll be pretty comfortable.
I plan on wearing them under jeans, and my Brosh CoolK pants.

I was looking at these on the website when my wife looked over my shoulder. She said, "Honey, that's going to make you look like you have child-bearing hips!" Women!

Re: Bohn Body Armour
I got the ones without the hip pads. Didn't want anybody to get ideas...

Re: Bohn Body Armour
I have both the pants and the airtex shirt, haven't tested the pants yet but I'm definately a believer in the shirt anyway.
Bare with me, it was a hot SoCal day, so I rode in my jeans, spaghetti strap tank top and oh, maybe I'll take the shirt (not real fashionable, but works). Anyway, a crazy driver and a kamikaze dive into the asphalt later; thought I would've broken a couple of bones but I only sustained a couple of scrapes and bruises. Can't beat that, IMHO it's already paid for itself. Cause a chick on bike is cool, but a chick with broken limbs that swears to never ride again is not. So go forth and purchase with confidence.

Icon also sells some aror shin & knee pieces
it seems more bulky than this underpant
i think I like the underpant better
Any update on the underpants?
is it uncomfortable to wear for long periods?
is there ankle protection too?
-
They are pretty warm when it's hot outside, but they're not uncomfortable. The
material is pretty stretchy.
No Ankle protection, you'll need to wear some boots!
-
thanks pete
I think I will order the armor
did you buy yours straight from bohn?
none of the retailers seem to carry it
they all just have the non-armor underpants
AND, i know i know i'll get some boots
its hard to find ones that aren't so obnoxious
but also very protective
-
Yeah, bought them from Action Stations.
