Holeshot pipes

One thing that is cool about being in Arizona is that I can ride with my friend, Ricky.  He has a 02 nekkid bandit(same as me).  Anyways, he has a low mount 14" holeshot pipe.  We rode for a short ride together and I got a chance to see and hear his pipe.  I want to take his pipe off some time and take a picture next to mine.  That way we can see how different the positioning is.  I have noticed a few differences between  the high and low mount so far.  They are:

1. Low mounts seems to be a bit louder and throatier than the high mount.  This may be due to the shorter mid pipe.

2.  If you want to carry saddle bags, the low mount is a bit friendlier due to the lower positioning.  

If I find out any else new, I will let y'all know.

while holeshots products are great, I would guess the high mount is slightly more restrictive due to extra bending.  Bending can also reduce the noise, as I am pretty sure they use the same internal can design.

I would think bags and passengers would be harder with the high mount.

If you look at a side view, the bending is actually very minimal.  There are other setups that have more extreme bends.  I have thought about saddle bags, but I don't it would be very friendly with my high mount.

Some bags have protection on the underside of them to help to facilitate the high pipe and bags.  Of course systems like  GIVI  should keep the cases away from the exhaust.  

There's also the possibility of shields that can be attached to the pipes.  The 919 has shields that are attached to the pipes, and I carry regular ( non-protected) soft bags on it when we take a trip.
