For those of you who like the streetfighter idea( as less as possible on your bike) or like "gadgets":

I 've got the veypor instelled now and it is an awesome box!

Before I remove the original clocks, I first want to ride a bit with both solutions, so I mounted the Veypro between the clocks. (yep, removed the fuel meter first...did not work properly anyway)

It is so easy, hit the button, and a 0-60mph run is measured or a 1/4 mile run. Or measure torque and hp while riding.
Or the gear is displayed, or the fuel graph. And the switchlight, and the lapcounter,... all in one small box. And the data is downloadable to the PC.

Bye bye analog clocks.....!!

Veypor looks good indeed, but a little pricey right?
How much was it?
And how was the installation?

Guys,

The installation is dead-easy.
1/ A red cable to the switched +12V,
2/ a black cable to the battery ground,
3/ A white cable vampired to one of the ignition wires from de CDI
4/ A gray cable with sensor ty-rapped to the rearbrake hose to the rear disc.

5/ A magnet(2 included) superglued on the disc.

6/ ram-mount (included) on the handle-bar.

Done! (Total time 1 hour.)

After this initial setup I removed the fual gauge and attached the unit there. (another 40 minutes, including removal of the fairing)

The calibration took another 10 minutes. (wheel size, gear ratio and iginition pulse devider.)

The unit cost around $ 280,-
If you mention my invoice number (3164) you and I get a discount of $ 20,- So feel free!

Just did a 0-60 run from the trafficlights. According to the graphs I did it in 3,6 seconds. Got to be able to do better I guess.

This weekend the old clocks go ! I'll post some more pictures .

how responsive is it? As in how much of a lag does the tach have?

I don't notice any lag compared to the original tach. You can set a "filter" to make the tach "quicker or slower". (number from 1-6)
As far as I have seen the shiftlight lights on-the spot.(9500rpm) So no noticable lag between that and the revs on screen.

I do know now that the original analog tach is more than 700rpm off at high revs.That means that 10000rpm is in fact just over 9000rpm.
Same effect has the speedo, but I knew that already.

The only negative thing I've found so far is that it does not have a tripmeter "in sight"I can reset when I fill the tank. It does have such a meter,but you first have to press some buttons.** The fuel meter (left side of the screen on the last picture, shows "full") works well, so I guess I don't need it really.

** Addition: I just found out that I can just press the "enter button" in driving mode and the unit will immediately show the miles/km since last fill, remaining miles/km and the fuel consumption in gallons/mile or liters/100km.
