Apparently there's a big crack that runs all the way around it but there's LOTS of ductape holding it together real well.

The award for "prettiest helmet" goes to our own Captain Maple, Jim Brough. And as Golden Right Earring plays "Gaydar Love", Jim makes his way to the stage to accept his--no, no, he's run into the arm of a chair...and he's down...now he's back up...and on his way to--oh my, that seems to be bleeding a bit...but here he is to accept his award. Jim, any words for your fans?

I think the only thing that's cracked is thee goofball who posted the picture. The helmets being sold are all supposed to be new (better be, I went ahead and got one-- NOT THIS COLOR -- as a spare) and the reference to it being cracked was a joke. I think these helmets are about 8 years old, but new, and the price reflects that.

My only other helmet (other than hockey) was a GMax so you know what I'm coming from! The Shoie feels absolutely tremendous! The fit is superb; nice and snug without being too tight and what I like most is it is deadly quiet inside. The Gmax would roar all the time - sometimes I left the strap undone as that seemed to make most of the noise!

The helmet actually looks better in person - it's mainly black with hints of red and there's no pink! It's FUCHSIA!!!!

So it looks quite manly. :wink:

Can't seem to find a red jacket to go with the bike so here's the fashion plan: black leather pants and jacket and boots; candy apple red Bandit; yellow and black joe rocket gloves; black and fuchsia and red helmet!

Now if some cager says they never saw me comin' I can kill him legally right there on the spot! :banana:

I buy everything in black and silver, so other than this helmet, everything from gloves to tailbag to helmet to backpack match and will go with any color bike.

Upon closer examination, my helmet appears to be almost a salmon colour. As we all know, salmon are quite fierce creatures so it is quite manly to be associated with them.

I mean, Jimmy Dean, on his best day, had nothing on me standing there, helmet hanging off the bar, feeling like I was on top of the world.

Suddenly a pack of young toughs, all on nasty looking sport bikes, zoom up and jump off their steeds. They all just kinda took me and my pretty little bike and my pretty little helmet in and then, as one, shook their heads and headed into the stealership. I felt about three inches tall, threw my butt away and jumped on the Bandit and took off out of there, tail between my legs.......oh, the ups and downs of life!

Post by: jbrough7 on June 28, 2006, 09:46:43 AM: New problem! I finally painted the fuschia a bright candy apple red and it looks really good. But I covered the visor with duct tape for the painting session. Took the duct tape off and it seemed to leave a sorta residue. Tried to take that stuff off but then I realized I was taking off a thin layer on the visor itself. The visor is okay but sure not 'like new' anymore! Must be a little film of something on the durn things..... :roll:

Post by: suziblue on June 28, 2006, 10:14:09 AM: You should be able to clean/polish your visor. The duct tape probably left a residue.A felt polishing wheel and wax will repolish the visor. Be careful not to buff on high speed or it will melt.

If it is residue, try eucalyptus oil then soapy water.
