hello
anyone have the joe rocket manta tank bag?
i've never seen one in person and it seems pretty small. i was wondering if it is big enough to fit a spare helmet visor in. beyond that, is there maybe room to cram a rain suit or mybe just rain pants in there? the visor is the most important part.
thanks

I have one. If you got a sheild in there it would be a tight fit. Holds a 20 oz
water bottle real nice though. Normally I use it for day rides and keep a water bottle, wallet, keys in the bottom and cell phone in the upper pocket. I think rain pants would probably fit but there wouldn't be much room left. I like the bag. Magnets are real strong and it doesn't move at all. :beers:

You might wanna check out the Icon primer pack. It is also a magnetic tank bag but has removable shoulder straps making it into a backpack when you wish. It seems alittle bigger than the manta also. And for roughly the same cash. www.kneedraggers.com has them for $40.

I was checking out the Manta bag, but when I put it on my 02 B6, I thought the front magnet didn't hold very well. Unlike my traditional size Nelson Rigg magnetic tankbag, I could easily lift the Manta off of the tank.
Are the magnets really strong enough?

I haven't had any problems. I had a water bottle full that just fit and it never moved even on bumpy two lane roads( and we have alot of them!). I also gave it the 120 mph test and it was fine although there isn't much wind behind the fairing. Also, I have a bra on my tank and don't use the bottom magnet, just keep it tucked in. I found that keeping the magnets close to the bag instead of stretching the flaps seemed to make it more stable. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info.
