Noj Quiet Rider

Has anyone ever tried one of these?

I have a older Shoei RF-700 elite and was thinking about giving the Quiet Rider Deluxe a try , but it runs about  60 bucs !
Lets hear from anyone thats used one please.

Re: Noj Quiet Rider

I use their "econo" version (~$15) when it gets cooler. It does quiet things down a little, but I've got an HJC CL-12 (noisy!) and wear earplugs anyway. It's good for a little comfort, but I don't think I'd pay $60 for one.

I find the lack of air circulation causes the face shield to fog even worse when it gets cold. I have a fairly quiet Arai and always wear earplugs anyway. When it gets cold, I wear my Turtle Fur neck warmer, which can actually be pulled up to cover up to your nose if you want.

A lot cheaper too.

Re: Noj Quiet Rider

You're right about the fogging. I use a FogCity insert on my visor (helps a lot, at the expense of some peripheral vision) and ride with it cracked open a bit.

Re: Noj Basic

 I have a Noj Basic:

It will make things fog up at a stop, or when you first start off. I looked at their higher level ones and can't justify the extra coin for the more deluxe versions. I was expecting them to be heavier fabric, and if they are, I couldn't tell the difference. They might cover a little more neck than the basic, but my jacket liner has a tall enough collar, I don't need that feature. Mine does reduce wind noise and my KBC VR-1 is fairly quiet already.

Re: Noj Basic

OK , thank for the replies.
I just noticed that if I put my hand up by the underside of my helmet lots of noise goes away. It seams like most of my noise is from air rushing past the bottom of my helmet.
I'm not worried about getting cold because I live in San Diego and it doesn't get below 40 more then once or twice a year.
Maybe I'll try to make something to deflect the air, this could be my chance to invent a new product.

Re: Noj Basic

The fogging I mentioned is only in the cooler temps. On my VR-1, I can avoid it by leaving the visor just a crack from fully closed. If you're wanting something to reduce noise, the Noj basic should fit the bill except when it gets hot since it does cut down on air coming into the helmet and when it is hot, you'll want all the circulation you can get. Since everyone has different comfort levels, you have to define your own "hot" - but for me, I find it's fine until temps get into the mid 80's. Fortunately, the basic is easy to remove and stuff in a pocket... you could probably do it while riding as long as the zippers on your jacket pocket cooperate.
