Purchased & installed it on my B-12, and it has so far worked perfect. What sold me on the Pro-Oiler vs the others is that on a 2nd gen B-12, this unit works off the signal from your speedo sensor. As a result you have a constant very controlable application of oil on your chain with a dual nozzle applicator that places oil right on the O rings on both side of your chain. Best yet, it uses regular motor oil, which of course is cheap & very obtainable. What is differenent about the pro oiler than the others is that oil is only applied while the bike is in motion due to the sensor set up.
The instructions are a bit of a bear to work through (programing the unit) but it is probably because I don't do instructions well. My daughter however was able to decipher them and help me set the thing up.
Installation went very easy. If your not nervous cutting a wire here and there, it was a piece of cake doing the electrical part. You must drill & tap your swing arm to mount the unit which may be a bit intimidating to some but it was quite easy. I should point out that these were the only two holes I had to drill on the bike. Everything else is attached with tie wraps & Velcro. It will be very easy to take the unit with me on my next bike. and no evidence will be left. (nasty holes etc)
The unit has many setting to play with, such as increasing oil application during a rain storm, or reducing it on a long highway ride.
I did have a mess of oil around the swing arm & chain until I found the optimal setting for aroound town. Once I found the perfect setting there is less fling off tha using spray on lube! In fact I did a close inspection tonight and found the chain spotless with very well lubed O rings. After the 1st thousand KM's the chain looks better than new.
You can see the installation on my B-12 here.
