Has any one in here ever did a radar detector install on their Bandit? I did one on my 1250s and man it works like charm. Saved me a ticket (probably) on the first trip to the interstate...Banditone1250s... :bomb:

I don't have one, but they are generally pretty easy to install on bikes with handle bars once you buy the right mount setup.
One of my co-workers has a really trick setup on his Busa... radar/laser detector with laser jammer added onto the front and rear. I've seen him avoid a laser tag on the morning commute. He said his detector informed him the officer tried to tag him three times. Twice from the front and once going away. While radar jamming is illegal (FCC rules prohibit it), laser jamming is not (lasers are not controlled by the FCC, but the FDA).

What brand/model does he use?

I'll have to ask him when he gets back from his company trip.

I was just wondering why the Federal Drug Administration would control the use of laser detectors??? I have Radar detection on my bike and it also works like a charm. It also saved me from a ticket the first time out, however I was "looking" for a cop w/ the radar just to see how "well" it worked. Yep!!! It worked like a charm....Banditone1250s...

Because the FDA controls lasers... don't know exactly why, but they do. Radar is broadcast by radio frequency, so that's why the FCC gets that one.
Of course, states could step in and make their own rules about laser detectors - like some do with radar detectors.
