replacement mirrors
« on: August 06, 2007, 01:54:36 PM »
Just thought I'd let everyone know, the following SV mirrors fit our bandit (2nd gen) just fine (probably the 2.5 and 3rd gen also!). they may be a smidge shorter, but are tons lighter and sportier looking too. You just have to adjust them a little to get the same visual in the mirror as the stockers is all!

I got mine here...http://stores.ebay.ca/TunerX-Factory-MOTORPARTS

Could you take some before and after pics? I have been thinking about putting the new Bandit mirrors on.

So those are aftermarket mirrors.  As I suspected from looking at the bikes, this means that the OEM SV mirrors would fit, too.

If we ever get some non-BBS content at BA, this interchangability (turn lights, mirrors, etc.) is the kind of thing that I would like to see us accumulate.

Actually, come to think of it, I havent noticed hardly any vibration in them. I know what you mean though, my right mirror was the worst, but now, not so much!..definately LESS than stock mirrors for sure.(maybe that had something to do with the length? or the thick rubber pad?. The replacements come with a pad too, but thinner.

You will have to pick up those stupid black plastic allen bolt covers for about $2 each!. I thought I would need the  black wedge extenders for them with the replacements being a smidge shorter, but after installing the A/M's, and while waiting for the extenders to arrive (from ebay), I think I'll leave them off and give them to my buddy with an SV instead, not really needed.

The (2.5K Gen) and New 1250 Bandit mirrors should work, (I dont know if they have the same part # as the SV OEMS though)

Actually it seems that even the katana or new GSXF 600 has the same 42 mm bolt pattern also.

Ya know, those SV mirrors look a hell of a lot like the stock mirrors on my 2006 650 Bandit...

In fact, I'd say they *are* the same mirrors as on my ride.
