I recently put on a pair of Shinko 009’s. Less than 300 miles on them but so far so good. They’re about year old. I bought them last summer and have hand them garbage bags in my garage to help keep them fresh.
I am not an aggressive rider at all so for the money I can’t complain.
If any issues arise I will keep you posted.

Could you measure the tread depth at the center and post what you get? I've got around 5500 commuter miles on a set now, and they still look fresh to me. Thanks-Tom.

Sure Tom:
Front looks to be a hair under 4mm and the rear is a solid 5mm.

Thanks for measuring them. I'm confused now though, because my rear is only 1mm less and the front is almost the same. I've been trying to find a reciept for the tires to conferm the milage on them. So far no luck. Either I'm way off on how many miles they've gone, or these tires have a really great wear life. At any rate for what I do with them, they have been a good buy. Thanks again-Tom.

Thats it in a nut shell. On my B6 as a full time motorcycle courier I used to get around 25,000 kilometers out of a 009 on the rear and 30,000 out of a 005 front.
On project Rex I'm still waiting to give a life wear report on the 005 front, 009 rear combo.
But the 2 005 I ran on the rear gave me 15,000k each.
Hint keep the tyre presures up, on the Rex I run 38psi front 42 rear.
the B6 I run 36psi front 40 rear
