ANybody get one of these...happy with it?

After seeing all the reviews in this summer's mags, I ordered two, one for me and one for a buddy.  On the up side, they are more accomodating of odd shapes than a typical bungee net, and just plain easier to put on.  On the down side, my buddy's snapped on first use, holding nothing more than a jacket, well, below the stretch limitation advertised (36").  Mine did the same thing, on a jacket, on the 2nd use.

So, I've emailed the company and said "great design but poor quality" and we'll see how they respond.  Will they refund my money?  Send a couple more that will break immediately as well?  Reengineer the product?  Or just ignore me entirely?  Stay tuned...

Here's a update.

I received a very friendly email within 24 hours stating that they had had a bad batch of straps (which are soft rubbery plastic) and they will send me two replacements ASAP.

So...good customer care!  I am somewhat leary that they will be significantly differerent, since I originally ordered two different colors, and would imagine that the plastic being used is already formulated, but I am going to accept their offer and try them out with an open mind.

The product design is really clever and handy...if they are more durable, then I will be pleased to state so.  They are not very expensive, so I don't expect them to last for YEARS.

Yeesh, I feel like I'm talking to myself here!

The Spider-Web Strap folks came thru with two replacement straps.  I'll post an update after we've used them a few times to let you know if they held up better than the first set.

Hopefully SOMEONE is reading this and getting some good of it...these things were reviewed in all the mags, surely SOMEONE was tempted to buy one!  They are easier to use than a bungee net...if they last longer this go round!

Just so you don't feel you're talking to yourself...

I've got a net from Lockhart-Phillips. Cost under $5. Had it for >4 years now, with no problems.

I took the hooks off so they wouldn't scratch the paint and just double-wrap a section over each of the bungee spools.

I've got a bungee net, but the circular rubber design of the spider web strap is just so much easier to use...if they don't snap after a couple uses...you'd have to try one to understand what I mean.  I will let y'all know if these new ones hold up longer.

And hey...thanks for posting something!
