SW-MOTECH Handlebar Risers
« on: May 10, 2008, 12:32:20 PM »
I bought my '06 Bandit 650S late last fall and really didn't get much of a chance to ride the bike before winter set in. I only managed a bit over 300 kms, but in that time it became clear that my back and wrists didn't appreciate the hunched over riding position. Over the winter I located what looked to be my answer in the form of a set of handlebar risers made by SW-MOTECH and sold through Twisted Throttle online at http://www.twistedthrottle.com/.

The price seemed a bit steep at $100 plus shipping but these risers moved the bars up 1" and backwards another 1" which sounded nice. I ordered a set and they arrived mid-winter. With spring finally here and the Bandit out of storage I didn't hesitate to install them right away. I took my time and had them installed in around 20 minutes taking care not to scratch or dent anything during the process. The stock cables had plenty of slack and there were no issues with the install. The kit is very complete and includes all new bolts and the plastic caps to finish each bolt. The stock parts are tucked away should I ever decide to go back.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the more upright riding position and my back and wrists should enjoy the ride a bit more. Well worth the $100 price tag in my opinion.

Any change in the way the steering feels or responds?

Good question and I was worried about that myself. I was relieved to find that there wasn't any change in the way the bike rode or the steering responded. Everything came together very well and I would recommend these risers to anyone looking to relieve back, neck and wrist pain.
