Title: Tank Bag Suggestions?

I want a medium capacity tank bag.  I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or warnings.  

I'm thinking about an Oxford Sports Humpback bag, but was also eyeing offerings from Marsee, Tourmaster, Nelson Rigg, etc.

I got a Joe Rocket sport bag from Santa this year.  It splits into two bags.  I normally ride with just the bottom half.  There's enough room for wet weather gear, cell phone, extra glasses and gloves, bottle of water and a few other misc items. I've ridden about 1,000 miles with it, and I'm very satisfied.  I've used the top half a couple times, and it also seems to work well.  

The only complaint I have is that the lower half seems to have faded in the sun, and it looks mis-matched with the top half.

I've got the JR Sport, too. I like it a lot because of it's dual nature - but unless I'm going somewhere where I need to look at a map, I use a tail bag because I don't like to futz with the tank bag at fillup time.

Yeah, Paul, I've got a Tourmaster Sport Tailbag and it's pretty much my daily bag.  Almost like a briefcase when I carry it into the office.  I am just starting to think about a tank bag to go along with the tailbag for shorter trips.

I also have the JR sport, and I like it. If you only need a little space, just use the bottom half, and for more room, zip the top half on and you can carry quite alot of gear. Nice flexibility. Good strong magnets hold bag in place without any sliding around.

I dont know if you guys get a brand name of motoline.
Its a great unit, 3 pieces. 1st a simple map holder, 2nd at a guess a 15 litre bag, 3rd another 15 litre bag, all zip together and the bags have built in hikers back straps, storm protector.  Best part, the price.
The big names in tank bags here are Dririder, and gearsack, Ive had both over the years and both worked well, and have no beef with either, well until now. The new name brand, set me back less than $100. 00 which near half price on one brand, and still way ahead of the other.
all being about the same size. The materials look to be the same, and of the same quailty, just slight design differences.

I also have the sport tailbag.  Definitely glad I bought it!  I can easily fit my laptop, lunch, and any other crap I might need at work.

I recently bought a Teknic Freeway Tank Bag for < $50.  It a single compartment, expandable, magnetized jobby.  I don't know if it's really considered to be 'medium sized' but I know there are bigger bags out there.  It was great to have on a recent weekend trip.  Without expanding it, I was able to pack in:  cell phone, wallet, rain gear, antiacid, and a few other things.  The map window is nice to have too.

I use a Tourmaster Cortech 12 liter magnetic tank bag that seems as though the size is made to fit perfectly on my B12. The bag is expandable and the magnets hold it very securely. It has quite a number of interior organizer pockets and seems to be a good medium size. At a gas stop, it's just a matter of unclipping a safety strap and setting the bag back on the seat. I bought one that had a broken snap from my dealer and he cut me a smoking $25.00 off deal. A quick trip to an upholstery shop got the bag's snap fixed for free.

JR sport for me too.
usually just use the bottom half.
I use the top half as a tail bag sometimes to even out the fade.
top half also becomes a backpack, and dont forget the incuded "shower cap"

I'm using River Road gear. Tank bag with one large and one small that can be zipped into one tall one if you want. I usually use either or. I mostly use the small one for rain gear, cell phone, water...

I also use their saddle bags, which have worked well.

I have the JR Blaster tankbag, and I absolutely love it.  It's magnets are very strong and it doesn't scratch at all.

I have the Nelson-Rigg magnetic tank bag.  The magnets are strong.  It fits everything I need for the commute to work and quick runs around town.  The best part was it was only $44 at newenough.com.
