(Darlington-AP) September 7, 2005 - Darlington Raceway is raising money to help people affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Darlington will hold a "Laps for Relief" fund-raiser September 17th where those donating will be allowed to drive five paced laps at the historic track in their personal vehicles or on their motorcycles.
All money raised will be given to the American Red Cross. Darlington President Chris Browning says the track gets many requests to drive the track.
Browning says it's important to help those affected by the storm.
Those making donations will ride behind an official pace car.
